On the set of Nelly “Gone” video featuring Kelly Rowland

Things got hot and heavy on the set of Nelly’sGone” video co-starring Kelly Rowland. The collaborators hooked up in Cancun, Mexico, earlier this month to shoot the follow-up to their 2002 smash “Dilemma” with director Marc Klasfeld. In new images from the set, a shirtless Nelly and glowing Kelly are seen flirting by the pool and cuddling on the sandy shores at night. Nelly posts up at the poolside bar while Kelly reclines on a lounge chair in additional scenes. Read the rest of this entry »

Rihanna to shoot “Skin” video in the coming weeks

Rihanna will be shooting the video to her smoldering new ballad “Skin,”. With the lyrics reading “So why you standing over there with your clothes on? Baby, strip down for me, go and take them off.” The song’s real hook is the fuzzy electric guitar that begins sawing through the melody about three minutes in, and continues building until it reaches a, er, climactic solo at the very end. I do adore the record and I suppose Rihanna will sex it up more in the video. The last minute kind of reminds us of Sade’s achingly beautiful “No Ordinary Love,”which was just as sensuous but perhaps a little (okay—a lot) less graphic, lyrically. – The video will be shot in LA later on this month. Kanye West will mentor Kim Kardashian?

That’s right, Kim Kardashian pictured her with a close friend at her début single launch in Las Vegas only a few weeks ago had fuelled rumours that Kanye West will be mentoring the dashing project.

Kanye West is keeping up with Kim Kardashian. The rapper was spotted outside a studio in Los Angeles, reportedly where Kim was shooting a music video for her forthcoming single. B.o.B on the set of “Don’t Let Me Fall”…

B.o.B hit the floor on set of the video for “Don’t Let Me Fall,” the fourth single from his debut album The Adventures of Bobby Ray. The guitar-toting rapper lay on the sidewalk of downtown Denver facing the sky and moved mountains at the open-air Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The clip was directed by Ethan Lader, who he previously teamed up with for “Nothin’ on You.”.

With album just recently certifying Gold, there is no doubt this album will still be flying off the shelf – Much like the Hayley Williams-featured “Airplanes“, “Don’t Let Me Fall” features piano-laden, heavy bass beats, and B.o.B‘s flow about living a dream and not losing momentum. But, to add to his ethereal moment, “Don’t Let Me Fall” is accessorised with trickling synthesizers.

The Atlanta-based MC and producer, real name Bobby Ray, has already had two songs from the album reach the Top 5 of Billboard’s 100 chart, “Nothin’ on You” and “Airplanes“.

Of course we can all now see that as much as B.o.B. is a talented rapper and indeed songwriter, does this guy need a feature on every track for it to get radio play? – But in reverse, B.o.B is responsible for these new baby stars such as Bruno Mars. Read the rest of this entry »

Gucci Mane and Swizz beats on the set of new video

It’s Gucci time! Gooch linked up with Swizz Beatz to shoot the explosive new video for “Gucci Time,” with director extraordinaire Chris Robinson behind the camera. The video, shot on location in Los Angeles, will be released in the near future in anticipation of his forthcoming album “The Appeal“: Georgia’s Most Wanted, slated to hit stores in late 2010.

Now, the rapper has finally wrapped his follow-up album and said that this is his best chance to capitalize on his underground allure. “The Appeal is officially finished. It’s mixed and mastered, and the artwork is done,” he told The MoMo Show from the set of one of his upcoming videos (he’s currently filming two at the same time). “I’m just out here promoting it and letting everyone know it’s coming. Just bring awareness to it ’cause I want everyone to know it’s coming and to support it because it’s a masterpiece.”

“Biggest mixtape of the summer, by far,” Gucci said about his tape, an ode to the neighborhood in Atlanta where he grew up. “When y’all get it, guarantee I win Mixtape of the Year.” – now don’t get too ahead of yourself Gucci!
