Eminem’s “Recovery” certified double platinum

Eminem has a lot to be thankful for this summer. The Detroit rapper reclaimed his spot atop the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with his seventh studio effort “Recovery“. The disc, initially released in June, also achieves its eighth consecutive week of selling at least 100,000 units, bringing its grand total to a whopping 2.1 million copies. As a result of the surge in sales, Slim Shady’s latest albumearns double platinum status. – Odd seeing as before the release of the LP people where doubtful of the LP and many critics had dismissed the project all together!
To date, “Recovery” is the second best-selling album of 2010 behind Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now (2.5 million). Besides his album accolades, Em’s Rihanna-assisted single “Love the Way You Lie” also moves into the No. 1 position on the Digital Songs chart. At this point last year, no albums had sold more than two million units, according to Billboard. Six have reached the million mark this year, including Usher’s “Raymond v. Raymond“, which went platinum this week after selling an additional 15,000 copies. – In other news Eminem is currently planning a world tour and yes! another album is currently in development!
Chris Brown and Usher cancel joint tour

Chris Brown and Usher fans were in glee earlier this week when Bryan-Michael Cox announced that the duo were going on tour. However, even after Brown proposed to the idea on his Twitter, the plans for the show have been officially scrapped. There is no official word from either artist’s camp as to why the venture was canceled. Brown has since removed any messages referring to the tour from his Twitter page.
But according to Usher’s camp, this is all just talk – for now, at least. “There are no plans at this time for Usher and Chris Brown to tour together,” reps for the 31-year-old singer said. Brown’s reps said ditto with the statement: “There is no confirmed Chris Brown and Usher tour at this time.”
Perhaps they’re just waiting to see how badly fans want it. Brown tweeted Wednesday, “Would you pay to see an Usher and Chris Brown concert/tour,” followed by, “RT #CBUSHERTOUR if u want it to happen.” Lo and behold, at the time of this posting, #cbushertour was a trending topic.
And now this is now why I’m sticking to my new quote of the year…”I’ll believe it when I see it”, although a Chris Brown and Usher tour would of been a done deal for world wide success it seems to me that those on Usher’s side are getting a bit too greedy! I guess we’ll just be stuck with Rihanna and her squealing as the only alternative unless we go to Trey Songz’s sex show, ‘Passion, Pain, & Pleasure’. At least we still have Lady GaGa. Usher and Chris Brown to tour together?

R&B crooners Chris Brown and Usher are reportedly going on tour together. – Okay here we go!
According to their mutual friend and producer,Bryan Michael Cox, the two hit-makers are also planning on recording a track together. – I find the all really hard to believe, even though they are label friends but Chris Brown’s tour just got axed due to reasons which I’m not going to mention (don’t worry RiRi it’s not you!). And with Usher only pushing out two extention LPs to his “Raymond Vs Raymond” I just don’t see this project taking off!
The Grammy-winning songwriter revealed on YouTube: “Usher and the boy Chris Brown are going on tour, y’all know that, right? I might’ve just gave y’all some exclusive s**t!” Chris Breezy then took to his Twitter to add fuel to the fire by saying: “What would you guys say if me and Usher went on tour?” If this is to happen, we are pretty sure all the females around the world will make sure this event is sold out in no time. Good marketing skills!
But don’t get too excited, I’m sure some where down the line something or someone will get cancelled and then this would lead to more drama, and then who knows Chris Brown might even decided to hit/bite someone else (just kidding). Trey Songz may see the begging of the end of his career!

Trey Songz has said he is putting pressure on himself to make sure his new album is even better than his previous three.
The “I Invented Sex” singer said he wanted to continue building on his momentum with new album “Passion, Pain and Pleasure“, which is released next month,
“No matter how much you love the songs, I need something new,” he said, adding that R Kelly and Usher were his idols. ”This is a competition,” he said. “No matter how much I look up to Usher and R Kelly, it’s something we all want to be the best at. But I can’t control what they do. I have to outdo me.” And Trey seems to have a fan in fellow R&B musician Keri Hilson. The star said she wasn’t worried about Trey being a “one-CD hit wonder” because of his strong vocal ability paired with his physical appeal to his increasing female fan base.
“He won women’s hearts,” Keri said. “His music has always been great. But people are more aware of him now because of his sex appeal. That will help him move forward.”
Either way in addition to this pressure, Trey Songz‘ reality TV show may also be axed from air, After a somewhat promising start back in June, the show’s ratings have dropped to dismal depths – with this week’s episode bringing in an embarrassing 0.461 million viewers (this despite it being aired nationally – US). “New look” for Usher and Chris Brown

Usher was back in the “A” to mentor 600 young people about service and leadership at Powered by Service Day in participation with his New Look Foundation, a non-profit organization that encourages youth around the country to become corporate and community leaders.
“I said I really want to do something that would motivate them, give them the proper tools that they need to understand that there’s a better world,” the singer told us. “My objective is just to open their minds.”. You know I cannot help but think there is another motive behind this…? It all really makes sense as the mid weeks for both the new extension LPs to “Raymond Vs Raymond“ roll in, BANG! her comes Usher with the new charity?
This is just a a bit too set-up and PR-y for me! In other news Usher is still working out what single to push out whilst “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” is getting a lot of love from the fans.
However, with Chris Brown increasingly looking set for a commercial comeback, aligning with Usher (who is enjoying a career resurgence of his own) can only be a good thing, at this point. Undeniably, two of the industry’s most gifted performers, a collaboration of this magnitude gives way to many a possibility – both musically and visually with any accompanying video. Ciara dropped from Usher’s project!

Despite earlier reports that Ciara‘s “Basic Instinct“ LP had been pushed back to September, news has now surfaced that the record will not arrive in stores until October 5th. This marks the 3rd time that the release date of the album, which is being primarily handled by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, has been rescheduled with the 1st being a change from August 24th to August 17th. {Source}
What in the name of Prince, Janet and Mariah Carey is going on with Ciara team? The previous changes to the album’s release date were understandable but now it seems that they do not have a proper handle on this project. With the substantial airplay that “Ride“ is receiving and the buzz surrounding “Gimme That“ there is no apparent reason why this record should not hit stores in September.
All of these changes do not bode well to boost the confidence of consumers regarding the quality of the album, especially since Ciara’s last project,“Fantasy Ride“, remained stagnant on the shelves. Get it together people!
So, 2010 is dealing yet another upset to Ciara. The sultry performer will no longer be featured on Usher’s new song, ”Hot Toddy“, from his upcoming ”Versus“ LP (in stores on August 24th). In fact, the song, which surfaced less than a day ago, will only include a contribution from Jay-Z with backing vocals from Ester Dean. There is no word as to why the change! Nicki Minaj tones down the sexiness

Nicki Minaj may ooze sex appeal, but the hip-hop honey is making a conscious effort to take it down a notch.
“I made a conscious decision to try to tone down the sexiness,” she went on to say “I want people; especially young girls—to know that in life, nothing is going to be based on sex appeal. You’ve got to have something else to go with that.”
While she strives to be a role model, she also embraces her individuality. “I don’t mind being called a weirdo,” shares the “Your Love” rapper. “There are a lot of people in hip-hop who are probably never going to get what I do. But, by just being myself, I end up touching a lot more people who might never have paid much attention to a female rapper.”
We all know Nicki Minaj has worked with Usher, Ludacris, Robin Thicke, and Lil Wayne, but she’s still in awe of her collaboration with a pop diva. “Not only did we do a song together, but I was in a video with Mariah Carey! I still haven’t gotten over that!” – All in all I’m not too sure how Nicki Minaj’s will respond to this! Surely isn’t Nicki Minaj a fun stage name that she puts on and works her stuff and then she just leaves her on the stage!?

Justin Bieber “Somebody To Love (Remix)” ft. Usher

So finally Justin Bieber aged up and finally silenced his critics with his new single featuring Usher “Somebody To Love”. Although this video has gone down the Usher/Justin Timberlake route, it’s one where Justin Bieber will be visiting often. What can I say, pretty much a standard Pop R&B video (notice the talcum powder being used and oh! is that Bieber’s hair being blown back by fans!? Divo!). “Somebody to love” who was originally written by Trey Songz without a doubt shows off Usher’s vocals more than Justin Bieber’s; I wouldn’t be too surprised if I found this track on one of Usher’s LPs!
I’m beginning to wonder too see how much more these guys sitting in Def Jam can do with Justin Bieber! Needless to say that time will catch up with this kid, and he no where near the bagfuls of talent like stars did when they were his age. Despite the whole Justin Bieber craze going on right now, it will only take a Lady Gaga album for all the attention to be sucked away from him! In other news; Bieber’s new “pedo” girlfriend Kim Kardashian is still receiving death threats from Justin Bieber fans; one tweet reading “I love u too sweetie pie RT @lillly_roose @KimKardashian Bitch leave Justin Biber. “Bad Bitch” Nicki Minaj, who recently has changed management to the more experienced P.Diddy has finally opened up about recent exposure to her new music and now more importantly her sex tape!
In a recent interview P.Diddy told us ”Nicki Minaj, she’s definitely one of the great ones. She has a long way to go, but you know how we recognized LeBron [James] was a great one, Tiger [Woods] was a great one, and Kobe [Bryant] was a great one? Nicki is up there. Her story has just begun.” Indeed it has, with Nicki Mina’s debut album to hit stores this October. Nicki Mina has also recently featured on more commercial hits such as “My Chick Bad” with Ludacris, “Lil Freak” with Usher and “Up Out My Face” with Mariah Carey; alongside her own début single “Massive Attack“.
Nicki Minaj sex tape which surfaced only days ago is already set to fetch $1,000,000! Nicki Minaj told us ”I don’t know where I fit in the spectrum of rap yet … people thought I was more of a sex symbol or wannabe sex symbol…I’m trying to entertain, and entertaining is more than exuding sex appeal. I don’t think that’s fun. I don’t find it fun watching someone trying to be sexy. It’s wack.”

Usher says “No!” to Diddy on Justin Bieber!

Okay so there is fresh beef surrounding “Baby” singer Justin Bieber. Mentor and talent spotter Usher has claimed he will not be giving any of P.Diddy’s advice onto the young teen sensation who took over radio waves back in July 2009.
Usher who was mentored by P.Diddy (known then as Puff Daddy) told him that “Sex, Drugs and Alcohol would not work” for Justin Bieber image; Of course it wouldn’t, this kid is like what 7!? – I joke! He’s 16! Usher old us “I had Puff as my mentor, but I wouldn’t pass on any of the advice he gave me,” He laughed. “Hip-hop, sex, drugs and alcohol wouldn’t really work for Justin’s image. He’s headed in the right direction. I’ve told him to do everything I wouldn’t do.”. Currently Justin Bieber is ranked 5 of the best selling artists of the Island Def Jam group (averaged through digital sales and airplay).
I think Justin Bieber is just fine the way he is; if we all look back to 2006-9 where P.Diddy caused the failure of Bad Boy Entertainment and losing all three bands he made from his reality MTV series “Make The Band”; therefore I’m sure Puff is the last guy I’ll look to. Yet I still wonder when Usher says “He has this amazing talent. He has the voice, the personality, he has so many God-given talents. As he begins to open up and go out of his comfort zone in music, he’s going to get even greater.” – I honestly cannot see Justin Bieber progressing at all. No offence but i’m already tired of him! In other Bieber news (for all you Bieber fans!) sources has claimed that Justin Bieber wan’t the body to match the pop star he is (oh god!), apparently he is hiring Twilight hunk, Taylor Lautner’s personal trainer in a bid to bulk up. A spokes person said ”Justin’s positive he has the intensity and focus to get the same results as Taylor.” They added: “He’s already a megastar at 16 – now he wants the physique to go with it. He wants ripped abs, bulging biceps, and cut thighs.”. Okay…wait for it…”LOL!” At times I do wonder about this kid…i’m sure the new body and the advice off P.Diddy will really shift CDs!
