Kanye West will mentor Kim Kardashian?

That’s right, Kim Kardashian pictured her with a close friend at her début single launch in Las Vegas only a few weeks ago had fuelled rumours that Kanye West will be mentoring the dashing project.

Kanye West is keeping up with Kim Kardashian. The rapper was spotted outside a studio in Los Angeles, reportedly where Kim was shooting a music video for her forthcoming single. According to TMZ, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star worked with Kanye on the closed set for the Hype Williams-directed clip. Read the rest of this entry »

Kanye West drops “Good Ass Job” title

Kanye West no longer wants a “Good Ass Job“. After much speculation, the hip-hop star has revealed that he is cooking up a new album title.

West took to his new Twitter page (which he only just recently joined!) to answer the question his fans have been asking, what will he name his fifth album? “The album is no longer called Good Ass Job I’m bouncing a couple of titles around now,” he wrote.

He earlier announced that he would continue the college theme of his previous albums “The College Dropout“, “Late Registration“, and “Graduation“. “Good Ass Job” was to be the last installment in the series.

Kanye West’s fifth album is scheduled for a September 14 release, and with very little hype around Mr West himself it looks like this project could be on the verge of crashing to the ground. We got a chance to speak to an insider of the project who told us “Well, first of all, if you look at all of Kanye West‘s output, he actually did a lot to bring back sampling and make it cool again, even though he’s more of a mainstream artist…but his new album is strictly hard beats and rhyme. He’s totally done with electro. You’re gonna be surprised what you hear.”

I’m still undecided about what exactly Kanye West‘s sound is, with very little time push out the album and with the first single off the LP (this isn’t even the official lead) “Power“, there is no doubt that this project will get pushed back all the way to 2011. Read the rest of this entry »

The-Dream divorced Christina Milian 9 days before she gave birth!

Some people sure know how to turn their fans into haters! And The-Dream is just too good at that! Reports came in that The-Dream, who is currently trying to push failing project “Love King“ - did indeed divorce Christina Milian 9 days before she have birth! – Outch.

Needless to say while his album continues to struggle on the charts, The-Dream surely did take a further stride on the route of “Epic Fail” – the very fact that this was just so secret has really questioned the personality of The-Dream! Recently he stated that “no one appreciates” his work hence his departure from the recording industry and that in general this guy not right in the head!

The ”Single Ladies“ writer (irony?) had supposedly filed for divorce a mere 9 days before Christina Milian gave birth, however then continued to pretend that they we still married to ensure the album promotion scheme went on plan until it’s release.

Thus, without fail the Christina Milian fans came in their thousands then targeted The-Dream which resulted him to closing his twitter account - aw, could some not hack it? There is nothing much left for me to say apart from that The-Dream has a wack album out with no good singles, he’s going to be kicked off the Island Def Jam label anyways! T.I’s “King Uncaged” gets pushed back…again

That’s right! T.I. fans are going to have to wait a lot longer than than expected to get their hands on his new album. The rapper’s highly anticipated “King Uncaged“ LP has been pushed back from it’s original release date of August 17th to September 28th. This news comes as a surprise to many as the album’s 1st promo single, ”I’m Back“, has already climbed to #44 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #12 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with little promotion.

We should all be used to Warner Brothers by now! We all know they never stick to their release dates; to be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if the album gets pushed back to December! I sense that this decision is probably related to conflicts with T.I.’s current promotional schedule for his new movie, “Takers”. Undoubtedly his label wants to ensure that his album gets sufficient attention. Furthermore, as T.I. chose to use the 2010 BET Awards to promote ‘Yeah Ya Know (Takers)’ from the ‘Takers’ soundtrack instead of his own project, he missed out on a major opportunity for exposure. Indeed, this decision may prove to be wise in the long run.

Although this has probably allowed all the tracks from the project to be leaked on the net, thus killing all suspense for the album. I still find it really hard to understand why T.I. didn’t just make the “King Uncaged” album the sound track to the movie “Takers”? – But hey, we will be seeing “King Uncaged” finally uncaged on the 28th September 2010! – we hope that is! Alicia Keys is “putting her unborn child at risk!” says management

Alicia Keys, who fell during her performance of “Love Is Blind” at the New Orleans’ Essence Music Festival has been advised (yet again) by her management to take the performance a little more easy. The “No One” singer slipped and fell flat on her back whilst she was singing the chorus to the expected forth lead single of the album “The Element of Freedom“.

This isn’t the first time that Alicia Keys has pushed herself a little too far during her pregnancy, only days ago she decided to climb on top of her piano during her BET performance! – I mean we all love and adore Alicia Keys‘ music, but now this is just becoming a cry for attention. I honestly do think that Alicia Keys really needs to start listening to the people at J Records and stop touring! – There will be other albums, I’m sure!

Alicia Keys who is six months into her pregnancy had to cut short her “Freedom Tour”, and in a recent statement J Records commented on the events surround Alicia Keys they said “due to Alicia Keys‘ pregnancy, promotion for the album will be eased” they then went on to comment on her actions “If Alicia Keys continues to do so, she will be putting her unborn child at risk!”.  In all honesty I would be surprised to see Alicia Keys still doing her stuff even eight months! I wonder what father of child, rapper Swizz Beatz has to say about this?

According to sources Alicia Keys will continue to promote the album (including, filming a video!) up until the end of the August! Read the rest of this entry »

The Dream “Nope, there is not another album…”

So yes The-Dream, the R&B singer and writer/producer for the likes of Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Beyoncé and others, has stated in he is to quit music for good (hm… interesting!).

The-Dream told us that his LP to be released titled “Love King” will be his final work. He told us “Nope, there’s not another album, this is it. Nobody appreciates music so I’m out. I’m out. I’m good, so take that. Like Jay said, maybe y’all will remember me when I fade to black. So it’s out.” – hold on! Firstly The-Dream is a talented writer however his own material is not so good; people do appreciate music; they just don’t like yours.

With that said it’s no secret that The-Dream‘s creativeness is running a little short; with his new single titled “Love King” and “Love King Remix” failing to chart anywhere decent it’s a little harsh to put the blame on the music listeners. With all credit goes to The-Dream who wrote #1s such as “Touch My Body”, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” and “Umbrella” – The-Dream himself is not an established act. With his own albums only certifying Gold and not a tour under his belt; The-Dream‘s solo career will not be missed.

Little to say, The-Dream did chance it with his solo career in the beginning, his career as a song writer/producer began in 2001 where he worked with B2K on their album; he then signed a contract with Def Jam and began work with the acts as well as his own projects – either way I very much doubt he will stick to his words!

However I wish The-Dream well, although he’s progressed the least in the music industry creatively he’s also provided the world with the most memorable R&B/Pop singles that have even been known; he’s written songs that have go on sell Platinum worth of CDs and help produced Albums that have in some ways changed many people’s life! I supposed The-Dream can now relax and spend some time with his wife and daughter.

Young Money Album Certified Gold

Congratulations to the Young Money family who’s début group album went Platinum this week after it’s release in December 2009. I have also come to learn that since the departure of Jay Sean (bo-ho) We Are Young Money is the first collaboration studio album from Young Money Entertainment. It was released on December 21, 2009. Featured guests are recently-signed Young Money artist Short Dawg, Lloyd, Birdman, and Gucci Mane (i see…).

Although a little surprising, as many people expected this album not to do so well – come on now, who does a label family album? – was it a desperate cry for some more money to bail Lil’ Wayne out? The album debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200, selling 143,000 in its first week. The album was met with mixed reviews from critics and did well on the Billboard chart. The next week, the album dropped down three spots to #12, selling 42,000 copies. However after continuous airplays of the group single “BedRock” and huge circulation of other tracks off the LP, the album just about managed to certify Gold! – still platinum is a far cry away, but as they say…We Are Young Money.
