She is indeed the only girl in the world! Rihanna has sold more that 10 million records in the UK. The S&M singer, who recently won the Best International Female Artist at The Brit Awards, achieved the milestone after surpassing 10 million sales of her albums since her first release, Music of The Sun, back in 2005. RiRi’s current LP Loud is said to have sold over a million copies already in the UK, despite only being released last November  – giving the 23-year old her fastest-selling album to date. The Rude Boy hitmaker also became the only female artist to achieve a No.1 single in five consecutive years, as well as her 2007 hit Umbrella holding the top spot for the longest amount of time over the last ten years.

After performing at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles, Rihanna raised a toast during her 23rd birthday party on Sunday night at a private home in Beverly Hills. The Bajan songstress mingled with guests including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Diddy, Cee Lo Green, Snoop Dogg, Zac Efron, and Christina Milian, chowing down on Sprinkles red velvetcupcakes and playing Nintendo Wii in a cutout dress with purple fringe.

Chris Brown appeared in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom today where a judge lifted the restraining order prohibiting him from going near ex-girlfriend Rihanna, reports US sources. Judge Patricia Schnegg reduced the ban to level one, meaning that the former couple can have contact as long as Brown doesn’t “harass, annoy, or molest her.”

A solemn Breezy, wearing a gray suit, sat beside his attorney Mark Geragos, who spoke on behalf of his client. The 21-year-old singer nodded when the judge asked if he wanted to waive his next court appearance.

Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra appeared on her behalf, telling the judge that she had no objection to the new ruling. “I have spoken with my client and she does not object to the reduction from the stay away order to the level one, or the do not annoy, molest, or harass order,” said Etra.

Brown initially requested the removal of the restraining order after completing his 52-week domestic violence counseling last month, and will remain on probation until 2014.

Rihanna will be shooting the video to her smoldering new ballad “Skin,”. With the lyrics reading “So why you standing over there with your clothes on? Baby, strip down for me, go and take them off.” The song’s real hook is the fuzzy electric guitar that begins sawing through the melody about three minutes in, and continues building until it reaches a, er, climactic solo at the very end. I do adore the record and I suppose Rihanna will sex it up more in the video. The last minute kind of reminds us of Sade’s achingly beautiful “No Ordinary Love,”which was just as sensuous but perhaps a little (okay—a lot) less graphic, lyrically. – The video will be shot in LA later on this month. “No teasing, you waited long enough / Go deep, I’m-a throw it at you, can you catch it?” Ri Ri sings on the sultry “Skin,” as synths snake around the track before a slow beat kicks in.

Jay Sean has made an impassioned plea to Rihanna, begging her for a duet. “Rihanna would be amazing, because we’re in a very similar lane – it’s that pop/dance/ R&B thing,” he explained, adding that the Barbadian star was his favourite female artist in the world. As for their ideal track to duet on, Jay cheekily said: “It’d have to be a raunchy song and we’d have to act it out.” (yawn! get over yourself!) The Do You Remember star’s new album, Freeze Time, features collaborations with Lil Wayne and Mary J. Blige, and Jay said he was happy to let them take the lead in the studio.

“You just have to trust them to do what they do best. With Lil Wayne, he listened to the song, interpreted it and put his rap on it. I like to learn from the greats – they’ve been doing it so long.” – With Jays it’s going to be all about how well his second US album does – with him losing his strong UK fan-base and the poor critical reception of “2012″ – he better pull his act together and lose the damn ego!

Birthday girl Rihanna, who turned 23, provided the halftime entertainment at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. A stunning RiRi performed a medley of her hits including “Umbrella,” “Only Girl (In the World),” and “Rude Boy,” bringing out surprise guests Drake and Kanye West for “What’s My Name?” and “All of the Lights.” 

The biggest names in showbiz and sports collided at Jay-Z and LeBron James’ 5th Annual Two Kings Dinner and After-Party presented by Bing in Los Angeles this week. The most exclusive event of NBA All-Star Weekend attracted Rihanna, Drake, Dwyane Wade, Melanie Fiona, J. Cole, Young Jeezy, and a non-photographed Beyoncé and Kanye West, who dined at upscale eatery Craft as DJs D-Nice and Mick Boogie provided the evening’s soundtrack.

The festivities continued over at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) building, where the glitterati were joined by Ciara, Jamie Foxx, Brandy, John Legend, and Amber Rose, who partied until the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Rihanna Navy invaded Macy’s at the Lakewood Mall in Lakewood, Calif., for the in-store launch of Rihanna’s first fragrance Reb’l Fleur. The first 300 customers who purchased a $138 package got to meet the pop star and take a photo with her. RiRi, wearing a cropped buttoned top, pocketed skirt, and gold bangles, clutched her fragrance as she posed for photographers. She exited the mall as throngs of fans waited outside to catch a glimpse of the Barbados beauty.

RiRi will provide the halftime entertainment at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game at L.A.’s Staples Center. Kanye West is rumored to be joining his labelmate for their collaboration “All of the Lights.”

Kanye West goes Technicolor in his Hype Williams-directed video for “All the Lights,” a cut off his platinum release My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Shot in Santa Monica, Calif., the clip begins by following a young girl walking through the cold streets before the chorus comes in, accented by a colorful display of lyrics on the screen. ‘Ye soon appears standing on top of a cop car, while Ri and CuDi sing for the camera during their respective solos. Prepare to be dazzled the flashing lights in the electric new video.

Rihanna is being taken to court by famed photographer David LaChapelle, who claims the pop superstar ripped off his iconic snapshots in her video for “S&M.” LaChapelle, known for his doll-like portraits of everyone from Lil’ Kim to Eminem and Mariah has filed a lawsuit against the Bajan songstress for replicating approximately eight of his images in the Melina-directed clip.

He claims that “the music video is directly derived from and substantially similar to the LaChapelle works,” and that it copied the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe, and lighting” of some of his work. The lawsuit points to a specific image of Rihanna against a blue background with a piece of candy on her tongue.

The suit seeks unspecified damages. Meanwhile, the “S&M” video has racked up over 11.5 million views on YouTube since its debut on January 31.
