Get your Money up for the new year. Young Money all-stars Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj will cap off a successful 2010 by performing on NBC’s “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.” The dynamic duo, along with rock band My Chemical Romance, will take over Times Square in New York City in a pre-taped piece, airing December 31 at 10 p.m.
“With performances from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and My Chemical Romance, this will truly be an energetic and celebratory night,” stated Daly. The Harajuku Barbie will perform selections from her debut album Pink Friday, while Lil Wayne closes out the year with his own hits. Weezy will also appear alongside Eminem on this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live,” performing their collaboration “No Love.”.
In other news Lil’ Kim appeared on Angie Martinez’s Hot 97 show today to discuss her ongoing beef with Nicki Minaj. Among the highlights, the Queen Bee said she would be open to working with Nicki Minaj. “I would do a song with her for the right price,” she told Angie. The amount? $7 million. As for the feud ending anytime soon, Kim declared, “I’m not taking my foot off her neck.” Plus Kim reveals a near collaboration with Biggie’s widow Faith Evans, what she thinks of Diddy(“I’m sick of him not being loyal to one person”), and when fans can expect new music. Though Susan Boyle continues to hold the crown with her sophomore offering The Gift, T.I. makes a splash on the Billboard 200 this week with his seventh album No Mercy, earning the highest-charting debut for any new album entering the fold.
The incarcerated rapper bows at No. 4 this week with his latest LP, moving 159,000 copies. While the album is a success by industry standards, it marks the first time that Tip hasn’t debuted at No. 1 since 2004 when Urban Legendentered the chart at No. 7. Comparatively, 2008’s Paper Trailscored a chart-topping debut with 568,000 units.
T.I. thanked his fans for their support. “First off I’d like to thank everybody again for going out and supporting the hustle yet again with No Mercy last week,” he wrote on his blog. “I can’t say enough on how much I appreciate the support and all the positive feedback. I read so many tweets, letters, reviews, and comments that spoke volumes to how much love was still out there and how much respect still exists for my art and my passion.”
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday continues to go strong in its third week on the chart, climbing two spots to No. 6 with another 82,000 units. Rihanna’s latest set Loud makes the move up to No. 9 with an additional 71,000. (more…)

Kanye West got in the Christmas spirit by giving back. The rapper showed off his gift-wrapping skills at the New Yorkers for Children Wrap to Rap benefit at The Ainsworth in New York City earlier this week. His Runaway co-star Selita Ebanks helped bring smiles to the faces of foster care children (and Kanye) with the neatly-wrapped holiday goodies.
With that a side, that isn’t the only thing he should be unwrapping, put it this way the only person who can beat Kanye West is Kanye West. The rapper’s latest effort, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy“, has captured the top spot on the charts this week, selling an impressive 518,775 copies. This means that the record has sold almost 70k more than his previous effort, “808 & Heartbreak“, which debuted with just over 450k in the same week two years prior.
With the LP already set for a Gold certification within it’s opening week, Platinum only seems a few moments away as the LP sales are expected to further increase during December. West has managed to outperform even Nicki Minaj whose “Pink Friday“ debut LP sold 371,049 units. Minaj has no reason to worry, however, as her nemesis Lil Kim’s debut album, ”Hardcore“, entered the charts at at a disappointing #36 in November 1996. (more…)
Here we go! Nicki Minaj vents about getting served pickle juice in a clip from her MTV documentary “My Time Now,” airing Sunday at 10 p.m. (for the UK) After showing up to an unprofessional photo shoot where their budget isn’t up to snuff, the pink-haired rapper goes off about getting treated with the respect she deserves.
“I put quality in what I do. I spend time and I spend energyand I spend effort and I spend everything I have, every fiber of my being, to give people quality,” she barks. “So if I turn up to a photo shoot and you got a $50 clothes budget and some sliced pickles on a motherfuckin’ board, you know what? No. I am gonna leave. Is that wrong? Wanting more for myself? Wanting people to treat me with respect? You know what? Next time, they know better. But had I accepted the pickle juice, I would be drinking pickle juice right now.”
MTV documents Nicki Minaj’s rise to stardom for “Nicki Minaj: My Time Now.” The one-hour documentary follows the Pink Friday rapper, born Onika Maraj, as she performs at the VMAs, records the Eminem-assisted “Roman’s Revenge,” returns to her home of Trinidad, and surprises her mother with the keys to her own home. Laugh and cry with the Harajuku Barbie as she reveals the ambitious girl underneath the colorful wigs and wardrobe. For those in the UK, I guess you are going to have to wait till this Sunday on MTV ONE at 10p.m. (more…)

Hip-hop looks to dominate next week’s Billboard charts. After a week filled with high-profile releases, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj are on track to outsell the competition and take the top two spots. According to sources, which forecasts album sales, Kanye West’s highly-acclaimed fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is expected to sell 525-575,000 copies in its first week in stores, coming in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, ‘Ye’s collaborator Nicki Minaj will have a “Monster” opening week herself with 375-400,000 copies of her debut Pink Friday. Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill currently holds the title for most albums sold by a female MC in one week with 422,000 when it debuted in 1998.
Elsewhere on the charts, Rihanna’s Loud is benefiting from Thanksgiving week sales in its second week with 140-160,000, with her labelmate Justin Bieber’s My Worlds Acoustic on par with those numbers. Despite delays and an early leak, Ne-Yo’s fourth LP Libra Scale could dance away with 120-140,000, putting it in the top 10. These figures could see a boost due to the busy Black Friday shopping weekend. (more…)

(Excuse me for being rude but…) HAHA! shame, now we all know hate isn’t a good look and no one likes a sore loser right? RIGHT! Let the war of words continue. Lil’ Kim delivers her full attack against Nicki Minaj on “Black Friday.” Over Pharoahe Monch’s instrumental from “Simon Says,” the Queen Bee spits stinging words about the Harajuku Barbie and her Young Moneylabelmate: “This hood shit, you and Drake ain’t built for/ This the shit the other bitch almost got killed for.”
She doesn’t stop there, calling the Pink Friday lyricist a clone. “This ain’t a championship fight, I been the greatest/ See the fact is, what you doing, I did it/ Lames tryna clone my style and run wit it/ That’s cool, I was the first one wit it/ You’s a Lil’ Kim wannabe, you just hate to admit it.”
Even Nicki’s co-manager and Kim’s ex-affiliate Diddy is not safe. “You and Diddy, sorry bunch of swagger jackers,” she raps on the blistering track, which Hot 97’s DJ Absolutpremiered in full today.
It came to our attention that Lil Kim was dropped by former label and now has started an independent music group as no one wan’t her! I mean I did say that hate isn’t a good look! This was going to happen at some point or another, Lil Kim just get over it your career finished about 20 years ago, let someone else have their time! (more…)

With all eyes on Nicki Minaj who just released her debut album Pink Friday earlier last week, but she already has big plans for the future. The Young Money raptress told us that her five-year plan includes a film career, a perfume line, a clothingline, and records that feature her singing as much as rapping.
Minaj has already explored the latter with her debut, singing on many of the album cuts. “There’s this fear of not being perfect,” she tells the magazine. “There’s some songs I just won’t write because I’m afraid of it not meeting my expectation of what I know that song could be. I don’t compete with other people, I compete with myself.” The Harajuku Barbie, who recently launched a limited edition M·A·C lipstick, previously revealed her aspirations to win an Oscar. “We’re getting scripts,” she told DJ Drama. “We’re reading it, but we’re not saying nothing [yet].”
One thing is for sure, the head Barb has come a long way since moving from Trinidad at the age of five. “When I first came to America, I would go in my room and kneel down at the foot of my bed and pray that God would make me rich so that I could take care of my mother,” she says. “Because I always felt like if I took care of my mother, my mother wouldn’t have to stay with my father, and he was the one, at that time, that was bringing us pain. We didn’t want him around at all, and so I always felt like being rich would cure everything, and that was always what drove me.” (more…)
A curly-haired Rihanna floated above the audience during her opening performance at this year’s American Music Awards. The Bajan babe kicked off her medley with a snippet from her sequel to “Love the Way You Lie” before jumping off of her perch to sing her hit “What’s My Name?” Joined by backup dancers, the crimson-coiffed chanteuse switched her hips to the pop jam, taking it to the dance floor by closing the performance with “Only Girl (In the World).”
Nicki Minaj, along with Taio Cruz and Trey Songz, presented the American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist to her friend Rihanna, who got a little touchy feely with the blonde Barbie.
“Don’t we all wish we could have green hair and make it look good like Nicki?” laughed RiRi before slapping her “Raining Men” collaborator on her famous ass. And TheMoMoShow.com are pleased to announce that “Who’s That Chick” produced by David Guetta is now available for download at iTunes and Amazon!
The decision was made between Island Def Jam and Roc Nation for a European release only. The new single will be released for radio on 28th November! So make sure you pre-order your copy…we’ve been waiting for this! (more…)
