oh Mariah, not again?

Don’t get me wrong, I love Mariah Carey but sometimes I really do think that there are some places you don’t go in a certain point in your career. So Mariah Carey who is desperately waiting for a Grammy nomination for “Best Contemporary R&B Album” for her previous studio album “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel“; is currently promoting her second Christmas album in 16 years titled “Merry Christmas II You“.
Despite slow sales during the opening week of “Merry Christmas II You” but as the festive season approaches and in many ways begins the sales of the LP have rocketed (yet, still Mariah’s first Christmas album still manages to gather enough sales to stay 7 places ahead on the sales chart). With the project being constantly question of the purpose it serves in the current market – it’s clear Universal wan’t a little slice of a Merry Mariah!
With that aside, I was shocked to see Mariah’s “exclusive” line of tacky and over the top clothing line on the home shopping network, really? Is this what she has come to? I understand Mariah Carey is pregnant and so the motherhood begins, but please Mariah just stick to the fragrances this is not a good look at all! Only time will tell what happens to this, I do feel another “Glitter” moment coming real soon, so now that Mariah has ticked off Sony, EMI and (maybe soon – don’t quote me) Universal, I guess the only one left is Warner Bros. – Roll on Mariah Carey the cartoon series. “Mariah’s album is complete” says JD

That’s right, news just in that Mariah Carey‘s album is finished according to producer Jermaine Dupri. Although a little shocking to see Mariah Carey push out yet another album since the mess of “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” this 41 year old diva has yet again out done herself. This “untitled” album would be Mariah Carey‘s 25th album, and this could mean a potential 20th #1 single? – Maybe, with huge producers on the LP including the likes of Red One, Darkchild, The Neptunes and Star Gate this is set to be the “Emancipation of MiMi” killer! Sources says that features will include Drake, Nicki Minaj, Phrarell, Mary J Blige, T.I and Jay Z (and many other unconfirmed acts as well!).
As much as i’m happy for Mariah Carey, this is way too early for MiMi to push out yet another 19 track album for her fans, I mean we all love Mariah Carey – but she already having two new compilation albums out and not to forget her extended line of fragrances. Seriously MiMi, isn’t that enough? Even though good friend Jermaine Dupri is going round saying it’s complete doesn’t mean that this project is anywhere near it’s release, although Jermaine Dupri and Mariah Carey promised a lead single by November. Up Out My Face!!!

Okay – so Mariah Carey dropped her huge R&B single titled “Up Out My Face” featuring Nicki Minaj. The song will appear on her remix album for “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel” titled “Angels Advocate”. Despite the poor reception of “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel” MiMi’s tour sold out within a few days of sale. Mariah Carey isn’t taking herself too seriously in this video (which at times is a problem…sweeties y’all gonna be hitting 40 soon!).
So, the video reminds me slightly of “Touch My Body” – but then it’s clear that the days of when Mariah Carey rocked R&B are long gone and she should settle down for her ballads, which will all soon be a lot easier as she is planning to leave the Island Def Jam music group and possibly fly to Warner Bros or even back to her home (after all they have the all the rights and she’s still their biggest selling artist even though she’s no longer there) Sony Columbia! Either way, Mariah needs to go back to her 90′s self, videos like this can only come around once…and I mean once Mariah!
“H.A.T.E.U”

“H.A.T.E.U.” (short for “Having a Typical Emotional Upset”) is Mimi’s third single of her new album (slowly yet surly flopping album) “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel”. The music video was shot on November 4th and 6th 2009, and was directed by Brett Ratner who previously directed music videos for “Obsessed”, “Touch My Body”, and “We Belong Together”. The video was shot on Malibu Beach, in California. The video uses the radio edit of the song, which is only 3:12.
In a nut shell, it’s another Mariah Carey, hair being blown back video. Everyone can sing on a beach!? but not like Mariah – who is prancing around in an unflattering swimsuit which (suprisingly) looks good in the video. So it looks like the 40 year old has still got it!? – well sources tell us that Def Jam’s biggest selling artist (the one that rakes in most of their money), will soon be leaving and joining to Sony’s daughter record label J Records home of “If he makes you feel like a million dollar bill” Whitney and “Spotlight” Jennifer Hudson (hm all those Divas under one roof!?).
Overall this was one of the songs that i highly rated when the album was released. Co-writen by the-Dream and set in a beautiful melody, and of course how can we forget Mariah hitting her famous notes. To watch the full video here Read the rest of this entry »
Mariah reveals the true Diva

Mariah Carey prepares to jet of to Europe this month for her promotion of her new album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel”, she plans to land at London on the November 12 for various press interviews and a performance on “X Factor”, GMTV and “This Morning”. Air dates TBA November 14 at 10:00am – Première of T4 Special Mariah Carey (airs on Channel 4). With all that aside the Diva atempts to return to her image she endorsed during the 90s where most of Carey’s sucess had blossomed. Later this year she is also expected to name the winner of Billboard’s Artist of the Decade (that she previously won in 1999).
Whilst doing so she is also pushing her new movie “Precious”, fragrance “Forever” and new book which is as yet untitled (is there anything else she isn’t doing?). In her recent interview she really opened up and it looks like Mimi wan’t little Mimis too!? (she better hurry up shes 40!), so yes Mariah is preparing herself to have children but not any time soon as she claims her career at this point is too demanding and she wants to 100% committed of being a mum.
So is there anything Mariah is planning of doing (who knows!), some new Mariah statistics is that Mariah Carey has been in the music industry for over 23 years! (that’s pretty old!) Watch the exclusive interview of Mariah Carey on the Larry King Show here…
