With Luda’s new single still floating around “How Low”, the hype for his new album “Battle of the Sexes” is getting hotter and hotter! A sources told us “Originally due in 2009, Battle of the Sexes was tagged as a collaboration album by Ludacris and label-mate Shawnna. A promotional single titled “Everybody Drunk as Fuck” which features vocals from Shawnna was released in April 2009. Shawnna reportedly split from Disturbing tha Peace in 2009 and signed to Nappy Boy Entertainment. It was later reported that Shawnna was removed from the album and became a solo album by Ludacris” – Sad times!

But as per usual, he broke through with the new single which reception went well in the R&B charts. With himself being the only act on his record label it looks like he’ll be pumping his own money into the promotion of this album! (more…)

Founding father of Def Jam’s daughter label “Disturbing the Peace”, Christopher Bridges aka “Ludacris”, is all set to start work on his seventh studio album titled “Battle of The Sexes”. If work all goes well the album will be ready to hit the shelves this February.

The album has been pushed back many times for label mates, Playaz Circle and Willy Northpole. Ludacris and Shawnna have previously created over 30 songs for the album, but as of December 2009 it is unknown of the fate of those songs. T-Minus and Grand Hustle producer Khao have each produced several songs for the album. Ludacris recently confirmed that Gucci Mane, Lil’ Kim, Ne-Yo, Monica & more would be featured guests on the album. The first single, “How Low” was performed at the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards on October 27.

Oddly, filed for Ludacris’ albums was another album titled “Ludaversal”, according to DTP sources “Ludaversal” was the album titled under Def Jam – they claim however Ludacris had left Def Jam in 2000. Since then he has managed to record 5 Gold albums. Ludacris said he wan’t to take it his rap back to the days of “Splash Waterfalls” with huge collaborations with other artists (don’t they all).
