With the Minaj and Kim beef at it’s peak, The Young Money crew - Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne were a triple threat at IMP Entertainment and Steve Marlton Worldwide’s All-Star Event at Siren Studios in Hollywood on Saturday night. Drizzy showed his wild side with a cheetah-print shirt underneath his tan blazer, while Nicki accessorized with a Barbie chain and Weezy puffed a cigar. Lil Wayne is dealing with increasing management issues…

Yes, when you think coming out of prison was just enough to deal with and with increased media attention on Lil Wayne – I’m not too surprised he hasn’t had a breakdown! But times are a bit hard in the yard for Lil Wayne‘s longtime manager Cortez Bryant and his crew. Bryant is known for being a sharp businessman, but recently a series of fake managers have been using his namesake and booking fake Lil Wayne shows. (oh no!)
Yes so if you see Lil Wayne performing in a night club near you, it’s probably fake! hese false managers also steal deposits from promoters and cause a lot of negative reaction when fans don’t get what was advertised. It’s become such a problem that Bryant’s people have issued a statement on how to spot a fake. This isn’t good when Lil Wayne is planning of releasing another album shortly and with an angry fan base who even know if the album will shift?

Weezy’s back! The city of Miami converged to welcome back Lil Wayne. The rapper received a homecoming fit for a king as Cash Money executives Birdman and Slim hosted a lavish party for their superstar this week.
After taking in the Hornets-Heat game in New Orleans andperforming with Drake in Las Vegas, Weezy capped off his first weekend back home in Miami. His CMYMB family including Drizzy, a teal-haired Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean, Shanell, and Kevin Rudolf celebrated at the retrofitted bank, along with Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Wale, D. Woods, and Cool & Dre. The guest of honor arrived with a cigar in hand and two showgirls flanking him on each arm.
“I just wanna thank everybody,” Mr. Carter told us on the carpet. “Not only our fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.”
The celebration continued at King of Diamonds strip club where $700 bottles of PJ Rose Perrier-Jouët champagne were chilling on ice. Once Weezy recovers from the festivities, he will return to the studio to work on Tha Carter IV and a Pink Friday remix for Nicki. Lil Wayne is out…

Troubled Hip-Hop star Lil’ Wayne is a free man. Following a miscalculation which delayed his release by an additional day, the “Lollipop“ rapper was officially released from the Rikers Island jail facility in New York City early this morning.
He served eight months of his one year sentence after pleading guilty to the attempted criminal possession of a weapon last year.
Friends and family are believed to have organised a large-scale “Welcome Home Weezy” bash. So now that he is out, I really just hope he stays out – what with going in for a few months has become a trend now in the industry and infact a great marketing tool, just play it safe Weezy.
Hours after his release from Rikers, Lil Wayne reconnected with his fans online. DJ Scoob Doo posted another photo of Weezy smoking a cigar and drinking a glass of what appears to be cognac while staring at a laptop screen. “aaaaaaahhhhhhmmmmm baaaaakkkkkkkkkk,” tweeted Lil Tunechi.
Lil Wayne has been scheduled for plenty of studio work and of course promoting his new material which has been surfaced whilst Lil Wayne was in prison. With all media on Lil Wayne it shouldn’t been hard for him to keep out of trouble, with huge Cash Money releases in the coming weeks, it would be a shame to miss out.
Drake feat. Lil Wayne “Miss Me”

Yes that’s right, Drake finally dropped another video from his amazing album “Thank Me Later“, although not one that we would of all exptected, “Miss Me” featuring Lil Wayne which debuted at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 was directed by Anthony Mandler. – But hey we are not complaining! The video is pretty following the story of a dark even with Drake and Lil Wayne rapping in some field in the middle of some hill-billy state – yes, another low budget video (sigh). Maybe this has got to do with this whole “welcome back” concert for Lil Wayne? most likely I cannot find any other reason why Motown would decide to put this okay-ish track out after a great lead of singles!
This was a good video. However, I wonder why this track was chosen as the new single instead of ”Up All Night“, “Shut It Down” or the much awaited “Fancy“. Certainly Drake wanted to release a single featuring his mentor but the Minaj collaboration is a much stronger song never the less with growing hype for T.I that would of mixed well too – and the The-Dream track is a genuine great record!. Besides, with the hype surrounding Drake, Minaj and T.I. (not so for The-Dream) at the moment, it would have proven to be a guaranteed smash. O well. Life goes on. Read the rest of this entry »
Drake announces welcome home concert for Lil Wayne

A fitting homecoming is already being planned for Lil Wayne. The day after he is expected to be released from jail, the Cash Money rapper will celebrate by throwing a welcome home concert.
Drake made the announcement during his Ustream session on Thursday, saying it would take place on November 5, but an exact location was not disclosed. Drizzy has a show the day before in Los Angeles and the day after in Las Vegas. Lil Wayne is serving his time at Rikers Island in New York.
“Undisclosed location, November 5, the Welcome Home Weezy concert,” said Wayne’s protégé while sipping on Pinot Grigio in his Toronto crib. “You might as well camp out at all different locations. That’s gonna be crazy.” – Saying that i’m still wondering when Drake will begin his world wide arena tour? – Although announced by his label there was no follow up!
Lil Wayne has been serving time for weapons charges since March. He is expected to be released on November 4. His EP, “I Am Not a Human Being“, will arrive on his 28th birthday on September 27. I’m sure that this private concert for Lil Wayne will be the crème of the crème and I’m sure that Drake will line up everyone across the land to turn up to this…now let just hope no get arrested again! Nicki Minaj tones down the sexiness

Nicki Minaj may ooze sex appeal, but the hip-hop honey is making a conscious effort to take it down a notch.
“I made a conscious decision to try to tone down the sexiness,” she went on to say “I want people; especially young girls—to know that in life, nothing is going to be based on sex appeal. You’ve got to have something else to go with that.”
While she strives to be a role model, she also embraces her individuality. “I don’t mind being called a weirdo,” shares the “Your Love” rapper. “There are a lot of people in hip-hop who are probably never going to get what I do. But, by just being myself, I end up touching a lot more people who might never have paid much attention to a female rapper.”
We all know Nicki Minaj has worked with Usher, Ludacris, Robin Thicke, and Lil Wayne, but she’s still in awe of her collaboration with a pop diva. “Not only did we do a song together, but I was in a video with Mariah Carey! I still haven’t gotten over that!” – All in all I’m not too sure how Nicki Minaj‘s will respond to this! Surely isn’t Nicki Minaj a fun stage name that she puts on and works her stuff and then she just leaves her on the stage!?

Jay Z talks about his retirement

With Jay Z set to release his “Greatest Hits” LP in the coming months; he finally decided to sit down and confront the growing rumours that “The Blueprint 3” was the last piece of Jay Z‘s work. However Jay Z recently said in an interview that the whole retirement talk is nothing more than gossip and he’s is still in competition with artists such as Lil Wayne – even at the age of 40.
Jay Z who also covered RollingStone magazine told the interviewers that ”One of the reasons I wanted to make Blueprint 3 was because of the challenge. We’ve seen people like LL Cool J have longevity, and we respect the heritage of what he’s done, but it’s not like, right now, he’s competing on the same level as Lil Wayne…So for me to still be able to compete at that level at my age, that’s rarefied air. It’s never been done. I think the problem with people, as they start to mature, they say, ‘Rap is a young man’s game,’ and they keep trying to make young songs.
He then went on to say “But you don’t know the slang — it changes every day. You can visit the topic, but these young kids live it every day, and you’re just visiting. So you’re trying to be something you’re not, and the audience doesn’t buy into that. And people wonder why. ‘I made a great Southern bounce song!’ You’re from New York, and you’re 70! Why are you bouncing?”. Even though the “age-factor” has started to shadow Jay Z‘s work life – you ask anyone (even if they are not into Hip-Hop, Rap or remotely R&B) to name a rapper they will say Jay Z! Eminem “Not Afraid”

Although i’m not crazy for this new Eminem stuff that’s been surfacing around at the moment, but “Not Afraid” is track that may stick around for a long time. Eminem who is currently promoting his new album “Recovery” has a much more darker rap sound to previous albums. Eminem who I say is one of the most progressed rappers in the industry to date; has kept himself in the spotlight for his fans. The new album “Recovery” without a doubt will show his own career and personal struggles over the recent years.
Tracks which will feature Pink, Rihanna and Lil Wayne have already leaked onto the internet; however Interscope Reocrds have assured us that “Recovery” is set to sell millions and chart a high place. The album which was meant to be called “Relapse 2″ and also expected 2009 (making it the second album of 2009 for Eminem) was pushed back into 2010 so that Eminem could work on further tracks. As for the video of “Not Afraid” follows the dark trend that Eminem is seeking for in this project, “Recovery” will be available in Europe from June 18 2010 and UK June 21 and US June 22, Interscope Records are currently readying the promotional tour. Trey Songz “I’m not single ladies…”

To many lady’s dismay, (yes it is true) Trey Songz is engaged to Ethiopian beauty queen Helen (current Miss Ethiopia 2010 and backing dancer). This is the same girl that told Lil Wayne, “thanks but no thanks” when he tried to “holla”. She told him she already had a man and that man is R&B star Trey Songz. Lil Wayne was shocked about the rejection and sources told us he said “I don’t even wanna put that man out there, that might not be his girlfriend, but in her mind she think she yours, dog, and she told me no for you, so you’s a G. And this wasn’t long ago, this was recently, I was the president, I had all that going for me, b*$#&h said NO! She sent me a picture of y’all and everything, like that new video from 50 and Ciara, that’s how y’all was.” – what ever that means!
Trey Songz spoke about being engaged to Helen, saying that “We met about two years ago. We started off just kicking it. She’s a dancer…We’d talk and chill. I didn’t see her much because when I met her, she was on the road with Omarion.” He then went on to say “Now she dances for Chris Brown. She was on the road dancing for Omarion and Marques Houston at the time. Eventually we would talk on the phone, ’cause my homeboy Pleasure, from Pretty Ricky, actually hooked us up.”
“Well, I’ll say he introduced us. From there, we went on that first tour together. I was on the Holiday Jam Scream Tour. She was on it too. We ain’t never really get a chance to kick it. She’d see me and she’d just kind of brush me off, but I’d be trying to holler at her. She’d see me with all different kinds of chicks and she wasn’t really feeling that.”
At times I find it hard to see Trey Songz with an ordinary girl, it just doesn’t seem like the girl he’d go for. Now that Trey Songz and Helen are engaged I do wonder if this will have an effect or his appeal or even music!? Further more so, when is the wedding!? One way of the other both will make beautiful children! Trey Songz is currently reading his live session album with MTV Unplugged.
