Pop ‘rebel’ Ke$ha braved the heat of the Californian desert this week to shoot the video for new single ‘Your Love Is My Drug’. The track, which is the third offering to be lifted from the 23 year old’s ‘Animal’ LP, is currently #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 – with radio spins and downloads indicating that it will almost certainly continue to rise on the chart.
As for the video, which you see more; MTV reports that it will “follow Ke$ha on a fun journey through an animated world” – (yawn!…only kidding). Check out the hot shots Read the rest of this entry »

Sorry to be the kill joy, but it has to be said! Although the new superstar who’s 2nd single has become his 2nd number one on the billboard charts (doing far better than his commercial competitor Ke$ha) he seems to fail to put on a good live performance.
Lets not forget that Jason Derulo’s first single and number one “Whacha Say” was recorded with the aid of auto-tune. His second single “In My Head” all from his début and self titled album “Jason Derulo” was not so auto-tune dominant. If we side track for a little, the whole album cover and promotional press seems to be a bit poor (I know it’s a first album but look at Ke$sha’s).
When Deulo preformed on the Lopez Tonight show in the states he put on a pretty poor choreography and vocals, and this is not the only time he has done so! He promotion tour which is set to start soon (US only at the moment) has had it’s budget axed to the bare minimum! To watch the poor performance and shock yourself Read the rest of this entry »

With Usher making his new come back to the music industry ( and his ex-wife), he’s is set to release his sixth studio album ‘Raymond vs Raymond’ on March 29th!
While a number of songs have been rolled out thus far – some billed as ‘traditional singles’ and others ‘buzz’ singles, we have received word from the the singer’s label confirming that ‘OMG’ will serve as ‘Raymond vs Raymond’s’ first International release. (yay! thank god it’s not “Papers”, that died out like VHS!). The 30 year old Usher, echoed the news on Twitter a few hours ago, announcing that he is shooting the video with Black Eyed Peas front-man will.i.am – who produced and features on the song.
Of course I’m excited for this entire release, however – with the entire Billboard charts edging into this European Dance music vide, R&B is going to struggle and that means R&B artists will need to drop the hardcore R&B beats for their tracks to become slightly Air Play friendly. With Usher the brand being continuously strong and till this date Usher has never a commercial failure during his music career. Although, after receiving a few samples of the new album i’m confident that the singles lined will chart, however with Ke$sha, Rihanna and Justin Bieber pushing their new music around his release date could see some problems for the new single “OMG” to listen Read the rest of this entry »

Ke$ha has just made history on the Billboard Hot 100. The Pop sensation’s first single, ‘Tik Tok’, has spent 8 weeks at the top of the chart, the longest stay at the top for a female artist’s debut single since 1977. Debbie Boone’s ‘You Light Up My Life’ set the record 33 years ago by holding the #1 position for 10 weeks (Billboard.com)
Seriously? I take it that people in the US just want to party and have a good time given the gloomy weather. Still, the only thing I can say is: seriously? – to be fair, i’m getting a bit too sick of this song, maybe it’s time to shoot the video to “Blah Blah Blah” – i do wonder, where is the album promotion? After all, there way so much fuss before, and now…a little disappointed to be fair!

Okay so news just in! Apple’s iTunes Music Store today launched “Countdown to 10 Billion Songs,” and is planning to give away a $10,000 iTunes gift card to the customer who buys the song that puts that turns the counter to eleven digits.
In addition to announcing the give-away, iTunes released a list of its all-time best selling songs, making that information available for the first time ever. Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” is Apple’s most downloaded song, and its “Boom Boom Pow” holds the No. 3 spot. Lady Gaga also hold two of the top ten spots with “Poker Face” and “Just Dance.” Other artists in the top ten include Read the rest of this entry »

Okay, so I was pretty luck to get the album before official release and I must say – it was one of the very few albums that I listen to entirely! Come on now guys, she over took Susan Boyle on the Billboards!
Must say the people at RCA records did pretty well with the entire promotion of the album, and I think it was a good and safe choice that they’ve chosen “Blah Blah Blah” as her next single (i will shoot myself if i hear Tik Tok or any sort of remix!). Overall I thought all 16 tracks where pretty good, although there were times I was tempted to press the “next” button – but it wasn’t so bad!.
The reason why I love this album so much and I gave it a 4.5 is because “Kesha” is as real as you can get. She isn’t one of those stars who did it just to move discs off the shelf (cough cough Rihanna!), you get a vibe that she has had a lot of fun with this album. With all respect, I don’t think the album showed off her vocals in a great way” but who cares! Lady Gaga and Rihanna set aside ‘cos a new Bitch is in town! New single… Read the rest of this entry »
