On the set of Nelly “Gone” video featuring Kelly Rowland
Feb 24th

Things got hot and heavy on the set of Nelly’s “Gone” video co-starring Kelly Rowland. The collaborators hooked up in Cancun, Mexico, earlier this month to shoot the follow-up to their 2002 smash “Dilemma” with director Marc Klasfeld. In new images from the set, a shirtless Nelly and glowing Kelly are seen flirting by the pool and cuddling on the sandy shores at night. Nelly posts up at the poolside bar while Kelly reclines on a lounge chair in additional scenes. Read the rest of this entry »
Destiny’s Child, the reunion!
Feb 15th

The ladies of Destiny’s Child are back together, but unfortunately, it was only for lunch. Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle met up at Phillipe Chow in West Hollywood to celebrate Kelly’s belated 30th birthday on Valentine’s Day. The group was snapped getting into an SUV, along with Bey’s sister Solange and her cousin Angie. Take a good look because this is the closest we may get to a reunion. Read the rest of this entry »
LaTavia Roberson slams Beyonce!
Nov 9th
Former Destiny’s Child member LaTavia appeared on Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ recently. The struggling artist spoke in detail about how she was ousted from the top-selling group and the problems with alcohol that she developed as a result. – Of course! Because that is the solution to everyone’s problems!
“You don’t do enough in this group to even have an opinion…” I wonder which of the girls in the band said that? Seeing as both she and LeToya were left at the same time then it has to be either Kelly Rowland or the obvious suspect, Beyonce. There has been serious debate during the last decade regarding the real reason for LaTavia and Letoya’s departure from Destiny’s Child. While the Knowles’ camp has maintained the two left on their own accord, I am more inclined to believe that they were fired for challenging the ‘Beyonce is the star and you’re just here for emotional support’ status quo. Indeed, we all know that Destiny only had one child.
Still, it has been over a decade since the group split and reformed (twice) so it’s good to see LaTavia finally getting focused on rebuilding her career. If LeToya can have a comeback then so can she. Good luck honey! Read the rest of this entry »
Kim Kardashian celebrates 30th with Ciara and Missy Elliott
Oct 17th
Following the Black Girls Rock! Awards, Ciara hit up the town for the 10th anniversary celebration of TAO New York and Kim Kardashian’s 30th birthday. CiCi and her BFF held court, laughing and sipping champagne while blowing out the candles on Kim’s cake. Missy Elliott also tagged along with the girls.
“Everyone keeps telling us that @Ciara and I look like the blk-wht version of each other! LOL,” tweeted Kim, who partied in Las Vegas the night before with pals Kelly Rowland and Trina.
Of course no night out with ladies like these is complete without the glits and glams! News came that Ciara has finally given her fans what they’ve been waiting for—an official album release date!
The R&B singer’s fourth effort Basic Instinct, originally scheduled for a summer release, will hit stores just in time for the holidays on December 14. She confirmed the date, which was previously listed on Amazon.com, in a Ustream session on Tuesday night. The project boasts the singles “Ride,” Speechless,” and “Gimmie Dat,” for which she delivered a video this week.
“Now it’s time to go back, it’s time to throw on my sneakers, it’s time to just really get bossy for a couple of seconds,” she previously told us of Instinct, which marks a return to her roots. Tricky Stewart and The-Dream are executive producers. Read the rest of this entry »
Michelle and Kelly hit London town!
Oct 10th
That’s right Destiny’s Child stars Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were spotted en route to dinner here in London last night. Rowland is currently in town to promote her new single “Forever & A Day“, while Williams is starring in hit TV show “Strictly Come Dancing” – That’s right, she didn’t make it on “Dancing with the Stars” in the states!.
I cannot help, but wish Beyonce was in this photo, I mean there is room on the right of Michelle - but maybe this is all to prove a point? That everyone has got over Destiny’s Child and that both (more so Kelly Rowland‘s) careers are really begging to see some star light which both deserve.
Kelly Rowland also announced that her new “AS YET UNTITLED” album will be released in the UK on the 29th of November. The album will have two versions, one which will be made and mastered for her European fan base and another for her homeland America. Oddly, in the UK the new album will not be released by label Universal Motown, but through another reportedly distribution group. Is Kelly trying to play two rolls each side of the ocean? or she just simply lost between European pop and R&B!? With all her lead singles performing better on charts I’m sure everyone will be advising her to peruse her Euro-pop career Read the rest of this entry »

“I’m in control of my own destiny” says Kelly Rowland
Jul 25th
Kelly Rowland has decided to come clean about the real reason for her departure from Columbia Records. The singer has admitted that, despite a press release noting a mutual split, she was in fact dropped from the label. Check out what Rowland had to say about the situation as well as her “civilized” relationship with Beyonce. Although having huge success with her new single “Commander” under Universal Motown she spoke to us about the true reasons behind her movement and why she wants this album to do so well. Sources told us despite constant rumors pitting them against one another, the “Grown Woman” says she and Beyoncé have remained friends. “We were always civilized…That’s what I’m most proud of. From the rumors to the lawsuits to false accusations, it was really tough.”
Even when legal issues arose with former members LeToya and LaTavia, the two stayed close. “We were strong because we had each other,” she tells the magazine. “There were times when I couldn’t even be strong enough, so I had B. She was the only thing I knew. She was my only friend.” As for the Destiny’s Child reunion that her former manager Mathew Knowles shut down, Kelly says she would be open to it “if the fans wanted it to happen.” Rowland also admits in the article that her former label Columbia Records dropped her and it was not a mutual split as the press release stated. “In all honesty, they let me go. The records that I put out probably didn’t perform as well as maybe they wanted them to,” she reveals. “We live in an industry where you’ve got to bring in money. You can’t be pushing out so much money and not bring anything back. I get it.” Read the rest of this entry »
Kelly Rowland’s LP set to be more successful in Europe than Beyonce’s
Jul 17th
With “Commander” in heavy circulation and climbing it’s way on the charts, no wonder a lot of people have got their eyes back on Kelly Rowland who seems to be having most her success here in Europe. Without a doubt the lead single off the album “Commander” is a strong one, without a doubt new management under universal’s Motown has really allowed to find her niche in the market. I’m sure we can all say that we are all Beyonce‘d out!
But, why has Kelly Rowland become such a huge star in Europe? Many factors including her work with David Guetta, but interesting facts emerged form sources saying that UMG can ensure that the LP (when’s it’s released) will hit more than 500,00o units within 2 weeks for release – meaning it will certify Gold in the opening weeks. That’s more than any Beyonce; who has always followed a gradual build of record sales. However notice some of the odd similarities with Kelly Rowland‘s “Commander” and Beyonce‘s “Sweet Dreams” – hm, I wonder what this is going to lead to?
I mean, it clear that Motown didn’t spend fortunes on “Commander” – and indeed classes as a recession friendly one! Kelly Rowland‘s next single scheduled for release is titled “Grown Woman” and click over to check out the new promotional pictures and the potential album cover! Read the rest of this entry »
Beyonce says “No!” to Destiny’s Child regroup
Jun 14th
Yes! “Single Lady” Beyonce has said no to any chances of Destiny’s Child ever reforming! to be fair, we all saw this comming; with Michelle Williams only a few months ago saying she didn’t want to continue with her music and made the decision to transgress her career onto a more theatre based paths; and Kelly Rowland leaving R&B totally and focusing on a more Euro-pop sound!
I’m not surprised! We all love Beyonce; but it seems clear that Beyonce who is extremly close to being named Best Selling Female Artist of 2010 (meaning 2009 – don’t asking me how that works!) is begging to get slightly heated within her own game! With the introduction of Lady Gaga; it tested Beyonce thus pushing her to give into the “Gaga-Revolution” that is currently happening over the industry! There is no nice way to say this but…Beyonce was out there to be solo from the beginning! simples!
However with a current gay for a girl group to take over the world this would of been a safe and good time to bring back Destiny’s Child; however I’d be worried on the amount of units they would sell. In many waus Destiny’s Child has gone way past it’s used by dates and with each member pushing their solo careers – Kelly Rowland set to release her new album in the coming months; it’s sad to see that we will never see Destiny’s Child again – even more so i’m grateful; if this project failed it could of damaged the legacy that girls have built up!
Saying that please please please note that Beyonce has kept in minimal contract with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams; so much for “sisters”! Well what you expect? It’s a shame we’ll never see these children of destiny together again! Also please note that Beyonce‘s recent single “Why Don’t You Love” flopped epically – go on a break B! Destiny’s Child reform project in development?
Apr 16th
US sources have relieved that there is currently a bidding war between all four major labels for the management of Destiny’s Child rumoured “comeback”. All girls before we very reluctant to tell anyone about “if” they where to reunite. It’s a creative process and cannot be “made” to happen things like this cannot be rushed! However with Kelly Rowland about to release her new album, Beyonce taking a break from music and Michelle Williams currently working on Broadway it’s unrealistic for the girls to reunite in significant times in their long awaited solo career.
This may just be a move to challenge the new movement the music industry is going into, Destiny’s Child would be a strong force! And there is doubt about it we could be hearing from Destiny’s Child very soon!
