Mariah Carey working on another studio album?
Feb 21st

I wouldn’t be surprised, Mariah Carey seemed a little bored these few months what with being pregnant and flogging her cheap clothing on HSN! The fact that she hasn’t turned to the studio – just makes me asks, why didn’t she do this sooner? The diva tweeted at good friend JD over twitter saying “@LTLline ok JD..now that u told everyone about this song can we finish it already?!? Call me!!! X0 Mimi” and Island Record sources have confirmed that Mariah is “developing a new LP” – however they couldn’t confirm a release date. Read the rest of this entry »
“Mariah’s album is complete” says JD
Jul 29th
That’s right, news just in that Mariah Carey‘s album is finished according to producer Jermaine Dupri. Although a little shocking to see Mariah Carey push out yet another album since the mess of “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” this 41 year old diva has yet again out done herself. This “untitled” album would be Mariah Carey‘s 25th album, and this could mean a potential 20th #1 single? – Maybe, with huge producers on the LP including the likes of Red One, Darkchild, The Neptunes and Star Gate this is set to be the “Emancipation of MiMi” killer! Sources says that features will include Drake, Nicki Minaj, Phrarell, Mary J Blige, T.I and Jay Z (and many other unconfirmed acts as well!).
As much as i’m happy for Mariah Carey, this is way too early for MiMi to push out yet another 19 track album for her fans, I mean we all love Mariah Carey – but she already having two new compilation albums out and not to forget her extended line of fragrances. Seriously MiMi, isn’t that enough? Even though good friend Jermaine Dupri is going round saying it’s complete doesn’t mean that this project is anywhere near it’s release, although Jermaine Dupri and Mariah Carey promised a lead single by November. Official press photos leaked today from the Island Records offices from new york! – Mariah Carey is back! Read the rest of this entry »
Bow Wow struggles to land front covers
Jun 22nd
Bow Wow has spoken about his past struggles when it comes to landing magazine cover features.
The rapper has revealed that although things have improved for him, he is determined to appear on the cover of hip-hop’s biggest selling publication, XXL Magazine.
He wrote on his blog: “So today I’m shooting my cover for Murder Dog mag. I’m excited because I remember when it was hard for me to get covers on some of hip-hop magazines. It took a long time to get source cover, but eventually I did. If only i can get XXL, but that’s another story.” Well I’m not surprised, with no recent acting or music work fresh from Bow Wow, why would anyone want them on their front cover let alone get excited about him!
“I just say respect the work, and music. At the end of the day it’s all about politics. So all my fans be on the lookout for the cover.” – huh? So it’s clear that Bow Wow is admitting that he’s PR team are having a little issues and that it’s very clear now that the public has lost a lot of interest in him.
In other news Bow Wow confirmed to us that “Who Is Shad Moss?” is the upcoming seventh studio album by the rapper, slated for release in 2010. This should be interesting as the first album to be released under the Cash Money label. The new album is set to be a double CD release with it’s main producers of the likes of Jermaine Dupri.

Mariah gets back in the studio with Jermaine Dupri for new album!
Apr 10th
Yes! Mariah Carey finally used her brains and stop any type of major production with The Dream and finally has reunited with Jermaine Dupri. But being the super star she is, Mariah Carey isn’t going to let the low sales of her ‘Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel’ slow her down.
The icon has actually returned to the studio. However, this time Carey has put her ‘Memoirs…’ collaborators, The Dream and Tricky Stewart, on pause and reunited with her long-time friend, songwriter/producer Jermaine Dupri. The duo, who created many of Carey’s biggest hits including Billboard’s ‘Song of the Decade’, ‘We Belong Together’ – I hope Mariah dons’t rush this project! Check out MiMi’s and JD’s UStream Video!
Mariah To Leave Def Jam?
Nov 27th
So, song-bird Mariah is ready to fly off to another label!? – sources have reviled that Mariah and L.A.Reid have seemed to be at “logger-heads” with each other as the label hasn’t seemed to push new album “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” as much as other albums.
Mariah joined Def Jam, after being dropped by Virgin records on 2002, since then the Diva has released 4 albums with the label (according to her contact it was a three album minimum), Charmbracelet, 6x platinum album The Emancipation of Mimi, E=MC2 and latest edition Memoirs…
To be fair, i would be surprised if she does leave, the promotion efforts behind this Album has been scaled down since “Emancipation” project, further more seeing as best friend and co-producer of Mariah’s early 2000 career Jermaine Dupri left Def Jam to venture and creatate his own label. Previously signing to Def Jam, Mariah had created her own label, however due to immediate work on her next album after Charmbracelet that all fell through. Following the poor reception of 3rd new single “H.A.T.E.U” i wouldn’t see any reason why not too; this won’t mean she wont work with the likes of “The-Dream” or “Dupri” again. Johntá Austin’s debut album “Ocean Drive”
Oct 18th
Johntá Austin is one of Def Jam’s up and comming R&B artist. Austin is set to do work with the likes of Jermaine Dupri, The Dream, Jadakiss, Amerie and Kristinia DeBarge (the usual Def Jam team). It’s been along wait for the 26 year old, since singing to Def Jam backing in 2006 he has only appeared in backing vocals or featured in B-list tracks. So why has Def Jam pushed back this act. Austin’s debut single titled “Turn it up” was released back in 2006, but will be re-released in 2010 alongside his new album titled “Ocean Drive”
The album is set to hit the US in the first quarter of the new year, however for us over here in “Grande Britannia” the album will be released by Mercury Records during the summer. No official track list or confirmed tracks has been released however Def Jam do confirm the “Turn it up” will appear as the second track on the album after the prelude. Rumours are that Def Jam have struggled with the Austin when recording the album (which has taken three years and counting) and a huge dispute between the label and Austin in early 2009 which threatened him to leave the label after an incident with co-producer Ricky Bell (aka Slick) which resulted him leaving the production of the album.
“Ocean Drive” is now being managed by So So Def, and talks of a future album is far far away. Dupri said “we just putting the icing on the cake” – Austin is still waiting for confirmation of featuring artist such as Da Brat, Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, Bow Wow and (former child of destiny) Michelle Williams. “Turn it up” was built on a sample of Delaney and Bonnie’s “Superstar”.
“Turn It Up” – Johntá Austin (produced by Jermaine Dupri)
