Jay Sean has made an impassioned plea to Rihanna, begging her for a duet. “Rihanna would be amazing, because we’re in a very similar lane – it’s that pop/dance/ R&B thing,” he explained, adding that the Barbadian star was his favourite female artist in the world. As for their ideal track to duet on, Jay cheekily said: “It’d have to be a raunchy song and we’d have to act it out.” (yawn! get over yourself!) The Do You Remember star’s new album, Freeze Time, features collaborations with Lil Wayne and Mary J. Blige, and Jay said he was happy to let them take the lead in the studio. A sigh of relief! Finally Atlantic Records UK is going something right with Alesha Dixon‘s under performing album “The Entertainer“. The new single titled “Every Little Part Of Me” featuring pop puppet Jay Sean is sure radio friendly and has some sort of “old school” vibe in terms of the music melody. As far as the video goes, I mean you can see that Warner Music are stuck for cash, but the concept works (even though you cannot really see what is going on because of the camera keeps on moving) and ends with “to be continued”, check it out above! Alicia Keys and stars die for the cause!

Twitter streams across the world are about to lose some starpower. On Wednesday (Dec. 1), celebs including Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian, Janelle Monáe, Swizz Beatz, Jay Sean, and more are taking part in the new campaign Digital Life Sacrifice where they will sign off of social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter on behalf of Keys’ charity Keep a Child Alive.
The digital protest is intended to raise money on World AIDS Day, with participants signing back on to their respective social networking profiles when the charity raises $1 million. Many have filmed “last tweet and testament” advertisements where they laid in coffins to represent their “digital deaths” in preparation for the big day.
“It’s really important and super-cool to use mediums that we naturally are on,” Keys tells the AP of the digital protest. “It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up. It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that.”

Weezy’s back! The city of Miami converged to welcome back Lil Wayne. The rapper received a homecoming fit for a king as Cash Money executives Birdman and Slim hosted a lavish party for their superstar this week.
After taking in the Hornets-Heat game in New Orleans andperforming with Drake in Las Vegas, Weezy capped off his first weekend back home in Miami. His CMYMB family including Drizzy, a teal-haired Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean, Shanell, and Kevin Rudolf celebrated at the retrofitted bank, along with Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Wale, D. Woods, and Cool & Dre. The guest of honor arrived with a cigar in hand and two showgirls flanking him on each arm.
“I just wanna thank everybody,” Mr. Carter told us on the carpet. “Not only our fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.”
The celebration continued at King of Diamonds strip club where $700 bottles of PJ Rose Perrier-Jouët champagne were chilling on ice. Once Weezy recovers from the festivities, he will return to the studio to work on Tha Carter IV and a Pink Friday remix for Nicki. Alicia Keys calls on star list friends to help push “Buy Life” campaign

Alicia Keys is only a few weeks away from giving life to her first child, but first she’s giving birth to the “Buy Life” campaign. The pregnant songstress sports a T-shirt with a unique barcode in her ad to benefit the Keep a Child Alive foundation. Other celebrity supporters include Usher, Jay Sean, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, and hubby Swizz Beatz.
Each ad has a scannable technology built-in allowing users to use their cell phone to donate money to help give life to millions of people affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India by providing medicine, food, and shelter.
“With the money raised [at the Black Ball], KCA can now help save even more lives affected by this horrible pandemic,” stated Keys. “With the launch of the BUY LIFE campaign, I’mconfident less people will needlessly have to die because of lack of proper healthcare.”

Jay Sean’s single fails to peak on any chart

Jay Sean might as well be on the first plane back to the UK, with his much anticipated single featuring new Queen of Hip Hop Nicki Minaj, “2012” belly flopped on the billboard charts peaking at a very disappointing 43! – Ouch!
With a lot of money being poured into Jay Sean‘s new project, it’s pretty heart breaking to see a very commercial lead single just epically fail! One would think that with huge backing from huge music industry experts, why did albums under the Universal belt such as “All Or Nothing” only have a maximum of two lead singles and each needing a huge feature to push the record?
It does pain me to see Jay do so badly, but there is no doubt that his career here at home in the UK clearly had better results performance wise, with the US already branding him as a one-hit-wonder with “Down” and a decreasing fan base, I’m starting to think even if the new album “Freeze” will even shift?
However Jay’s ignorance I have little sympathy for the douche, on numerous occasions Jay Sean has slated fan base for not voting for him for awards and with the “Freeze” album expected to drop during November and very little album promo done…GOD HELP US ALL!!! Read the rest of this entry »
Jay Sean hits up Nicki Minaj for single

Amen and thank the Lord! Someone finally re-branded this guy! So Jay Sean and Nicki Minaj‘s single titled “2012″ (bring on the Olympic endorsement!) leaked onto the net. Even though these past months my liking to Jay Sean has fallen and this whole commercial movement this artist is following is effecting his fan base, this single had something special about it.
Okay, so let not get carried away with it - I’m not in love with it but it’s a good tune. The Jay Sean single was build on the sample of “Do You Remember” (typical) and is scheduled for release at the begging of August. No doubt bosses at the Universal group in the states are worried about Jay Sean‘s career, as one official source quoted “he may lose touch with fan’s if he’s pushed out too fast”. With his single “Down” breaking so many records, his follow-up album “All Or Nothing” failed to garnish anything alike.
However I’m sure there is a huge marketing plan for this record, with Nicki Minaj only weeks away from her official UK and Europe release. Almost every record as a similar melody and beat; showing little artistic growth or variation. All that can be said about this song is that Jay Sean needs to double what ever he paid Nicki Minaj because she is the only reason that this song is even somewhat interesting.

East London boy Mumzy Stranger is the latest UK pop-urban sensation to surface the music scene. Already being named as the UK’s answer to Sean Paul; it’s clear the standards have been set high and with yet an official début album to release , it’s only going to increase the anticipation for Mumzy Stranger début LP.
Unlike many UK acts who try stick to their genre and their genre only; already with the first few lines of singles released and we are told there is a lot more and better to come. We can all tell Mumzy Stranger is no stranger to being diverse. In many ways Mumzy reminds me of a male version of Pixie Lott with a more urban edged twist on him. A prime example of how a young boy who set a up a studio in his room and after countless commitment has finally made it to where he wants to be; further more another prime example of how UK acts getting the recognition they deserve!
Mumzy Stranger was lucky given this opportunity by mentor and producer Rishi Rich who’s worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna, Craig David and Jay Sean. And is also expected to collaborate and work with EastEnder’s star Preeya Kalidas (who is also working on her own solo project with UMG’s Mercury Records).

JLS new album details

MoMo’s exclusive sources from Sony Music has informed us that Jive Records after their intense arena tour JLS will be then pushed to release a new album for late 2010 or even in the first quarter of 2011 (oh…joy!). In fairness it would be nice to see what major pop label Jive do to these boys, everyone knows that UK acts have always struggled in US markets (Jay Sean dropped from Cash Money, Alexandra Burke‘s shelved from shipping to the states), although there is a gap in the market for the boys it’s essential that JLS work on what type of boy band they want to be.
Needless to day JLS‘s début album was pretty much 13 tracks of mid-tempo same old pop crossover R&B. If there is one thing is for sure they guys will not be transferred to legends like Boys II Men, Jagged Edge or Dru Hill – however the vocal potential is there however I’m still trying to get my head around why JLS has been restricted to use there vocal talents in any of there singles. With new album under development and edging toward production from June; huge producers such as Darkchild (who’s worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child, Britney Spears, J Holiday, Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga) have been called in to work on the album along side boyband superstar Justin Timberlake.
We are currently waiting for a further release date, and possible track list; it’s been official that JLS will be covering a huge soul ballad. For more info keep it MoMo.
