Although i’m not crazy for this new Eminem stuff that’s been surfacing around at the moment, but “Not Afraid” is track that may stick around for a long time. Eminem who is currently promoting his new album “Recovery” has a much more darker rap sound to previous albums. Eminem who I say is one of the most progressed rappers in the industry to date; has kept himself in the spotlight for his fans. The new album “Recovery” without a doubt will show his own career and personal struggles over the recent years.
Tracks which will feature Pink, Rihanna and Lil Wayne have already leaked onto the internet; however Interscope Reocrds have assured us that “Recovery” is set to sell millions and chart a high place. The album which was meant to be called “Relapse 2″ and also expected 2009 (making it the second album of 2009 for Eminem) was pushed back into 2010 so that Eminem could work on further tracks. As for the video of “Not Afraid” follows the dark trend that Eminem is seeking for in this project, “Recovery” will be available in Europe from June 18 2010 and UK June 21 and US June 22, Interscope Records are currently readying the promotional tour. This is the first track (in the style of a) Rock-Ballad from rapper Lil Wayne. This will act as the anthem to Lil Wayne‘s album “Rebirth” the week ending January 16, 2010, selling 162,526 downloads and debuting at #18, and now is climbing the charts again. Despite a generally negative reception for “Rebirth“, ”Drop the World” received reviews that were more positive. “Drop the World” was the most anticipated song from the album, partly because it features Eminem. With all respect, i’m slightly confused over this EP – Lil Wayne‘s style of rap has changed which is demonstrated through the album.
In addition rumours are that Lil Wayne is working on his new album “Tha Carter IV” which will be album number eight for the rapper. So far what we’ve been told is that this album will have no roots of previous rap-rock album “Rebirth“, however this album will be featured around the Young Money family. In other news it’s been confirmed that Cash Money Records will be doing a world tour with all acts, not that’s something i’m looking forward to.
Okay, so as well all know “Single Ladie” who “put a ring on it” walked away from last night’s Grammy awards with six (…yes six!), Grammy Awards. Beyonce not only broke the record for most Grammys won in one night but gave (a slightly bland) preformance. Is it safe to say that it’s time for Beyonce to take a bow and leave music for a while, to be fair in recent polls many people have started to say although they love Queen B, “she’s getting a little boring now”. I wouldn’t be suprised if she does – her time on the billboard seems to be over publicized and with a new song from her ever growing album shuved in peoples faces every two weeks she is slowly (oh dear) becomming annoying.
Further more, it’s become clear that Taylor’s jump to fame was a result of Kanye’s outbust at last year’s VMAs (um-hm). Although I did not disagree with what Kanye said about the award she got (back then), i’m still finding hard to believe that Taylor managed to pick up “Album of the Year” – is no one even looking at the black eyed peas!? I personally thought that they out of all of those that turned up were truly deservent of the award, with longest time on the billboard chart “I Got A Feeling” – plus “Bom Bom Pow” and “Meet Me Halfway” – WHY OH WHY PEOPLE OF MUSIC ARE YOU NOT VOTING FOR THEM!
I was proud for Lady Gaga and I though her preformance was amazing, slighly worried how she managed to attend last night and then return to her Monster Ball Tour and then finish the video to “Telephone” with Beyonce in Texas. Also with regards to that, I do wonder if the Billboard awards do have an influence on the Grammys at all, with Eminem winning best Rap album (and not bookies favourite – Jay Z). To be fair it was a good night – suprise of the evening was the winner of “Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals” being Jamie Foxx & T-Pain with “Blame It”. But hey my MoMos – what more did you really expect. In my view, the night was pretty bland! Oh yeah guy, Rihanna yet again walked in with nothing and left with nothing! And I ask my self why oh why was she there!? who invited her? – she needs to sit down and rethink her look, her stlye and a whole new voice (sorry about the on going bitching about Ri-Ri – but i do not like her!) I think it would of been nice to see more males acts in this year’s show – but hey you cannot always get what you want. So, I suppose with all that aside, we have still got the Vibe Awards (whenever they are happening!), and we cannot forget the Brit Awards!
Simon Cowell has responded to Eminem’s recent comments that he would make a good X Factor judge by inviting the rapper to appear on the show (oh my!). Cowell revealed he is already close to Eminem – who he calls Em. “It would be great to have him on as a guest judge,” he said. “Em – I call him that because we are on first name terms – the job is yours.” Eminem previously admitted that he found it frustrating that hip-hop rarely features on XFactor and then added that the finalists of the show not only need to be taught how to put on a good performance, but how to live with the reality of the fame that comes with the £1,000,000 recording contract!
Eminem said ““No disrespect to the current judges but you need people who are global, platinum-selling stars. You need to prepare contestants for what it’s really like out there, and what sort of pressure you are going to be under.” he then went on to say “So much average talent comes out of these reality shows, it’s time to give people a chance who deserve it. hip-hop star will never win a show like The X Factor without somebody like me on the panel…”. Which overall leads to the next big question, is XFactor only reaching out to Artists who can move discs off the shelf!? With Dannii Minogue rumours of leaving, surfacing to come out not true, I wouldn’t be a suprise if the show went for 5 judges in 2010 (more…)
