Beyonce called upon the M.I.A hit producer to giver her a hand with her studio album, schedules for release later this year. Diplo has put his stamp on tracks for M.I.A. and Santigold, but he’s setting his sights on even bigger pop stars. The Philly-based musician revealed that he’s been in the studio with U.K. producer Switch and Sleigh Bells’ Derek E. Miller for Beyonce’s fourth album. (more…)

Jay-Z welcomed the newest addition to the Roc Nation family, Jay Electronica, at New York City’s The Box on Friday night. Beyoncé got down to the sounds of the much-buzzed-about rapper, as her husband threw up the diamond in the balcony. Other industry heavyweights experienced “The Turn” as the Roc Nation boss made the news official at the magical event.

Jay-Z has one (final) word (for now) on wife Beyoncé’s possible pregnancy: No.

“I really sit back and wonder when people are going to stop,” he said on Howard Stern’s radio show Monday, when asked about the rumors by the show’s co-host Robin Quivers. “The day that happens, I don’t think Newsday is going to know before my grandmother.”

The rapper, who is notorious for keeping mum on his personal life, added, “Everyone knows I’m married, I just don’t discuss it because it’s a part of my life that I’d rather keep private.” – Of course Jay! There are also rumours of Beyonce moving to Roc Nation also! (more…)

Former Destiny’s Child member LaTavia appeared on Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ recently. The struggling artist spoke in detail about how she was ousted from the top-selling group and the problems with alcohol that she developed as a result. – Of course! Because that is the solution to everyone’s problems!

“You don’t do enough in this group to even have an opinion…” I wonder which of the girls in the band said that? Seeing as both she and LeToya were left at the same time then it has to be either Kelly Rowland or the obvious suspect, Beyonce. There has been serious debate during the last decade regarding the real reason for LaTavia and Letoya’s departure from Destiny’s Child. While the Knowles’ camp has maintained the two left on their own accord, I am more inclined to believe that they were fired for challenging the ‘Beyonce is the star and you’re just here for emotional support’ status quo. Indeed, we all know that Destiny only had one child.

Still, it has been over a decade since the group split and reformed (twice) so it’s good to see LaTavia finally getting focused on rebuilding her career. If LeToya can have a comeback then so can she. Good luck honey! (more…)

Jay-Z didn’t have to squash the baby rumors because his mother-in-law did it for him. While Tina Knowles was on“Ellen,” her son-in-law was in Miami launching his Decodedbook search experience with Bing. His not-pregnant wife Beyoncé and Venus Williams lounged poolside at the Delano Hotel in South Beach while Jay hosted the cocktail reception.

He explained how his partnership with the search engine works. “It’s almost like I’m trying to simplify the process, almost like a preview of the book,” said the music mogul. “We put all these pages out into the world to be found [and] through Bing search engine you bring it all back together and you can read the book. For participating in it, you get these prizes.” Jay then took guests over to the pool. “Lights!” he commanded before words from Decoded appeared in the water to everyone’s amusement.

In other news, Jay Z/Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam Records will be releasing a new greatest hits package for their former president, Jay-Z next month! That project will be called “The Hits Collection Vol.#1“)Although there have been previous Jay-Z hit compilations from Capitol Records (Owner of Priority Records which originally distributed Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records) this will without a doubt be the most comprehensive collection of his singles, since he spent the majority of his career under the Def Jam umbrella. You know, at times I just really give up with this story and the title does pretty much give it away, but I can now confirm I will only ever believe Beyonce has/will be having a child until that kid graduates from high school and puts out a record!

Beyoncé and Jay-Z may be dodging rumors that they’re expecting a baby, but that didn’t stop them from having a lavish lunch this afternoon. The pair was spotted at The Setai restaurant in Miami, where Hov will hold a cocktail reception for his book Decoded tonight at the Delano Hotel in South Beach. Jay, dressed in a button-down white shirt, was snapped walking to the lunch spot, while his smiling wife shaded herself as she nibbled on the tasty cuisine.

All seems well for Beyonce, who is preparing some new material to impact radio soon, closer sources says that promotional CDs were sent to major radio stations this month and an official press release will soon follow… and yes, maybe a baby…! That’s right Destiny’s Child stars Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were spotted en route to dinner here in London last night. Rowland is currently in town to promote her new single “Forever & A Day“, while Williams is starring in hit TV show “Strictly Come Dancing” – That’s right, she didn’t make it on “Dancing with the Stars” in the states!.

I cannot help, but wish Beyonce was in this photo, I mean there is room on the right of Michelle - but maybe this is all to prove a point? That everyone has got over Destiny’s Child and that both (more so Kelly Rowland‘s) careers are really begging to see some star light which both deserve.

Kelly Rowland also announced that her new “AS YET UNTITLED” album will be released in the UK on the 29th of November. The album will have two versions, one which will be made and mastered for her European fan base and another for her homeland America. Oddly, in the UK the new album will not be released by label Universal Motown, but through another reportedly distribution group. Is Kelly trying to play two rolls each side of the ocean? or she just simply lost between European pop and R&B!? With all her lead singles performing better on charts I’m sure everyone will be advising her to peruse her Euro-pop career  (more…)

Even the heavy New York City winds couldn’t dim the star power at Keep a Child Alive’s 7th Annual Black Ball at Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday night (Sept. 30). The star-studded charity gala, which raised money for HIV/AIDS treatment, featured appearances and performances by Sade, Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Usher, Swizz Beatz, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monáe, and more.

The belle of the ball, host Alicia Keys, lived out her dream by singing with Sade. “It was the most difficult thing I ever had to do in my life, to try to pick one song,” revealed the pregnant songstress, who finally decided upon “Love Is Stronger Than Pride.” “I lost sleep over it actually.”

Janelle Monáe gained new fans with her “Tightrope” walking and Swizz Beatz joined Jay-Z for “On to the Next One,” as his pretty in pink wife looked on. Alicia helped Jay cap the evening in their hometown by channeling Frank Sinatra with an impromptu performance of “New York, New York,” before closing with “Empire State of Mind.” I mean they don’t get any more original than this do they…? Alicia Keys‘ baby is due this December so that’s something else we can all look forward, unlike another play of “Empire State of Mind.”! (more…)

Following his co-headlining gig with Eminem at Yankee Stadium, Jay-Z hit up his 40/40 Club with wife Beyoncé for the official “Home & Home” concert after-party. With sister Solange on the ones and twos, the shindig saw singersAdrienne Bailon and Miguel rubbing shoulders with L.A. Lakers champ Ron Artest, capping off the monumental evening. Tonight Jay and Em will do it again with a second sold-out show in NYC.

Jay-Z is also still developing his first ever greatest hit collection which is set to shelf for November 2010, however fresh speculation has surfaced that Jay-Z has started work already on a new album! The news came to us when a close twitter source informed TheMoMoShow.com that Jay-Z had been doing a lot of writing during his vacation with his wife Beyoncé – yet it is unclear whether the material was for himself or something he was to pass on to someone else.

Even though the idea of Jay-Z pushing out another album potentially next year is pretty much acceptable, and I know a classic never dies, but really so soon? – Now that would be a risk Jay-Z! (more…)

Beyonce has been hard at work in the studio crafting her next record recently. However, the diva took some time to talk about her life including a new revelation that might shock some of her fans – the era of Sasha Fierce may be over for good. Either that or she has just realised that she’s made enough money.

“I don’t need Sasha so much any more because these days I know who I am. It takes time to figure out who you are and I am still discovering different things about myself – as I am exposed to different experiences I think, “Oh, I like this, I didn’t know I liked this.” That’s the journey of life that is so exciting. More and more I know who I am, I know what I like, I know what I want and that makes me feel so free. I don’t need to hide any more.”

The real question is whether Beyonce will be retiring the musical persona of Sasha Fierce as well. There have been several indications that she will be taking a fresh approach with her upcoming album and if that is truly the case then it may be time to put her usual beat-driven and lyrically shallow style to rest in favour of more personal expression.”

Although she may have won several awards on the basis of popularity for ”Single Ladies“, I sense that Beyonce has been churning out such tunes as a way for her to compensate for her lack of artistic depth. Beyonce definitely has the talent to create iconic material. All she has to do is stop shaking her backside for a minute and try to find meaning in her music instead of paying people to do it for her. (more…)

“Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time…of all time!” - Despite his headline-grabbing appearance at last year’s show, MTV has invited Kanye West back to perform at this year’s Video Music Awards.

All eyes will be on Mr. West when he takes the stage at the 27th annual show – just make sure you brace yourselves – it may be Justin Bieber this time round.

Kanye had everyone talking after he interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech at last year’s event. He was reportedly asked by MTV to leave the show following the spectacle. But the hoopla is bound to attract viewers who will be tuning in to see whether Kanye has any more surprises up his sleeve.

The VMA gig is only one of many things Kanye has planned for this year. “More music … I’m bout to drop a bunch of shit this year.. surprise performances.. guest verses… living in the studio,” tweeted the rapper, whose fifth album is set for a November release.

Maybe we should give Kanye West the benefit of the doubt – after all he did announced he was a changed man? – right? But if you’re asking me MTV is so just doing this so they boost up the views, and a VMA will never be a VMA without Kanye West!

Never the less, there might even be a fixed “interruption” (watch out Justin Bieber!) The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m. (US. Time) (more…)
