Beyoncé slammed for controversial photo-shoot

Beyoncé has sparked controversy for darkening her face in a photoshoot for French fashion magazine, L’Officiel’s 90th anniversary issue. The Single Ladies hitmaker donned African-style clothing and black face make-up magazine’s snaps, paying tribute to African musician, Fela Kuti – bad call I guess! Although many people defending the photos arguing it showed the African influence on this season’s fashion many have turned against Beyoncé “I’m not quite sure as to why she would agree to do a photoshoot that associates her with one of the most deeply rooted racist images in American history.”. Omarion having a break down?

Omarion was spotted at the VH1’s ‘Basketball Wives Red Carpet Charity Shopping Event in Beverly Hills, California yesterday. The singer was dressed unusually simple at the event compared to his more colourful fashion choices. After her contract finishing with Universal’s A&M, Melody Thornton told close sources that she in the development and writing stage of her album despite a label behind her. Chances of an independent release is very unlikely (the star hasn’t racked up enough money form her red carpet appearances to do that exactly!), Melody Thornton rocked her red heels to Diddy’s All-Star bash in Hollywood, is said to be in talks with industry chief Diddy. Which comes as now surprise as band mate Nicole wasn’t slow in jumping onto the Red One umbrella to produce her “Dance Hits” , I would like to see what kind of sound Melody Thornton brings when the album is complete. After gushing about her high hopes for working with Beyoncé, Australian songstress Sia revealed that she told B’s behind-the-scenes team that she wanted to lend a creative hand for the new album. “So I just said to all the producers, writers, everyone, help me make this happen, and then Diplo e-mailed me and said, ‘where are you in the world right now? would you be interested in flying to New York? Lloyd’s album gets pushed back…

Lloyd is taking a little longer to lay his album down in stores. The R&B crooner’s latest has been delayed by a month. King of Hearts, the fourth LP from the New Orleans-born singer, is now set to arrive on April 19, we have learned. Previously scheduled for a March 22 date, the Zone4/Interscope release will include the singles “Lay It Down” and 50 Cent-assisted “Let’s Get It In,” along with production by Polow Da Don. A compilation of remixes to “Lay It Down” will be available at digital retailers in the coming days, containing remixes from R. Kelly, Young Jeezy, Patti LaBelle, and B.o.B. Alicia Keys’ current priority may be motherhood, but she’s ready to get back to music. The R&B songbird has returned to the studio to work on her fifth studio album for release this year, Keys’ longtime producer Kerry “Krucial” Brothers exclusively revealed to press this weekend. “We do got a release coming this year, but I can’t speak on it yet,” said Krucial at this weekend’s ASCAP 2nd Annual Grammy Brunch at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood. Beyonce was snapped at NYC on the way to a studio in town. Beyonce called upon the M.I.A hit producer to giver her a hand with her studio album, schedules for release later this year. Diplo has put his stamp on tracks for M.I.A. and Santigold, but he’s setting his sights on even bigger pop stars.
