Alicia Keys The Element of Freedom 15.12.09

Element_of_Freedom_Alicia_KeysAlicia Keys finally unvailes her new album “The Element of Freedom” which is set to be released on the 15th of December (just in time for Santa to pop that under the tree), making the her return after two years with the huge Billboard topper “Empire State of Mind” with Jay Z will the new album match to the expectation?

Alicia is dressed as a “dove” (dove = free), although she maybe flying away but will the record sales of her forth studio album will? The first single of the album “Doesn’t Mean Anything” preformed poorly on the charts, but now Alicia (about time!) is dropping her second single off the album titled “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart”. Other tracks expected off the album are…

Mariah reveals the true Diva

8787a38012

Mariah Carey prepares to jet of to Europe this month for her promotion of her new album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel”, she plans to land at London on the November 12 for various press interviews and a performance on “X Factor”, GMTV and “This Morning”. Air dates TBA November 14 at 10:00am – Première of T4 Special Mariah Carey (airs on Channel 4). With all that aside the Diva atempts to return to her image she endorsed during the 90s where most of Carey’s sucess had blossomed. Later this year she is also expected to name the winner of Billboard’s Artist of the Decade (that she previously won in 1999).

Whilst doing so she is also pushing her new movie “Precious”, fragrance “Forever” and new book which is as yet untitled (is there anything else she isn’t doing?). In her recent interview she really opened up and it looks like Mimi wan’t little Mimis too!? (she better hurry up shes 40!), so yes Mariah is preparing herself to have children but not any time soon as she claims her career at this point is too demanding and she wants to 100% committed of being a mum.

So is there anything Mariah is planning of doing (who knows!), some new Mariah statistics is that Mariah Carey has been in the music industry for over 23 years! (that’s pretty old!) Watch the exclusive interview of Mariah Carey on the Larry King Show here…

Big Winners at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards

4078458427_3e2de295d0Europe’s largest night in music took place and stars from all over the continent flooded to Berlin for the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. However, the spotlight was taken from the European musicians and brought onto Beyonce who walked award from Berlin with three awards! (she probably has a huge room full of these now!). Without a doubt Berlin hosted a brilliant show, ending with U2 preforming at the gates of the Berlin wall the entire show closed to a magnificent end.

Yet, talks of Beyonce still go on – R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop Diva won Best Song (Halo), Best Music Video (Single Ladies) and Best Female Act; with all this aside her recent nomination for the highest award ever in the music industry (previously won by Mariah Carey), “The Artist of the Decade Award” is now becoming more believable for Beyonce. So with all eyes on Beyonce, what is she planning to do next? well she is still completing her one year “I Am” world tour and with only three albums in the bank is there any room for more? Well expect nothing soon as with rival divas such as Rihanna dropping their albums in the comming days, Beyonce doesn’t seem to be ready to hit the recording studio (i suppose she wan’t to enjoy the limelight). The show was hosted by Katy Perry and other guest hosts made the night a little too 2008 (when they were hosted in Liverpool) for some, but the entire layout and look of the show was refreshed and kept up to date and so did each and every one of the dazzling stars.

Beyonce recently has been criticized for long music career with few album releases and with similar artists not leaving the studio really puts Beyonce on thin ice, the likeability of Sweat Dreams, Ego, Single Ladies and Broken Hearted Girl will only go on for a matter of time (it won’t be there forever!). Beyonce wans’t the only one who walked away with their hands full Jay Z, Lady Gaga, Eminem and Green Day left “Crazy in love”. For more information about the nominees and winners visit the MTV EMA webpage.

Beyonce thanked her husband Jay Z who had supported her all the way through her solo career (lucky for the both of them as both albums peaked at number one on the billboard charts). The Diva’s show stopping performance of “Sweet Dreams” shook the whole of Berlin, as did the “bleach” marks from her neck which made it clear to some that Beyonce has had face skin lightening or her make up wasn’t the right tone!

The Element of Freedom: Alicia Keys

400px-Alicia_Keys,_Lisboa_08_cWhen was the last time we all herd something from the sensational Alicia Keys? Her fourth studio album “The Element of Freedom” is set to drop this December! It’s been two years since her “As I Am” (2007) dominated the Billboard charts and then her year long world tour took place in 2008. We were all reminded of her amazing talent when Keys hooked up with Jay Z on “Empire Sate Of Mind” the second number one hit from the blueprint 3.

Past the new hair cut and new look for Keys she said she “didn’t know what to do” when started work on the album, but knew she had to push another album out there before the 2010 Album Showdown! (Huge returns from like the of Jagged Edge, Amerie, Ashanti, 50 Cent, Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Chris Brown and those who started this trend were Mariah Carey, Whitney Huston and Genuwine). but knew to do it. After exhausting herself, she stated that she “finally found the key, and that is to allow yourself to be free”, The album will include production by Kerry “Krucial” Brothers, Jeff Bhasker and others (still to be confirmed).

However, Alicia’s début single “Doesn’t Mean Anything” from the new album didn’t preform well on the Billboard charts, gaining a peak at 61. Alicia seems to follow the trend of releasing her new albums during winter and for her singles to follow the same old set (same love ballad), however this album is a bit more unpredictable, if she follows the trends from “Empire state of Mind” then there no knowing where this album will end up, I think Alicia needs to leave behind her old voice, she needs to start competing with those outside her league – after all R&B has really changed.
