Let’s just get the record the straight here, I can simply tell with the lack of press releases coming out about J.Cole that there is something not right at Roc Nation HQ! When you’re signed to Roc Nation, Jay-Z may only be a phone call away, but J. Cole is not ready to make that call just yet. The Roc Nation rapper is still looking for the perfect record for his boss to jump on. – or so they say!

While they’ve worked together on “A Star Is Born” from Jay’s Blueprint 3 album, Cole has yet to find the right collaboration for his debut. “I haven’t found the song that we wanna do yet, but there was one that almost happened, that he was about to write to,” he tells us. “I didn’t even write to it. I just gave him the beat like, ‘Yo, I think you would sound good on this.’ I’m glad nothing really happened because a few months later I realized that’s not the one.” There have been other contenders, including one on his newest mixtape Friday Night Lights. “There was this one record we were gonna do. Even the song ‘Enchanted’ off the mixtape, that’s a song that when I first did it, I heard Jay-Z. I’m thinkin’ like, ‘Man, is this gonna be the song?’” he says. “But I’m really particular and picky, just by the way I move and handle my announcements and everything. I’m really calculated.”

Let’s just hope J.Cole is given his time to shine, I mean just adding him on a Drake tour wont expose him the record sales he’ll need… I smell a Rihanna collaboration (don’t ask me why…I just do!) (more…)

Susan Boyle may have outsold Rihanna for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, but there’s no bad blood between the female stars. In fact, the Scottish singer recently spoke on wanting to collaborate with the Bajan songstress, with RiRi reciprocating the offer.

“There are certain types of music that you’re good at and certain types that you’re not. I mean, would I be good at R&B? I suppose you never know. Maybe me and Rihanna could get together,” said the “I Dreamed a Dream” singer.

The red-haired siren took to her Twitter page to share her excitement about a possible duet with Boyle. “Hold up! I might be a lil late, but just heard that THEE SuBo wants to collab wit ME??!? I’m game, doesn’t get much cooler than this. #BOOM,” she wrote.

Boyle’s holiday album The Gift entered at the top of the charts two weeks ago with 318,000 copies sold. Her second week sales totaled 335,000, which was enough to put Rihanna at No. 3 with her latest Loud.

Rihanna is not the only unlikely artist open to working with the former “Britain’s Got Talent” contestant. 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg previously expressed their interest in a SuBo collabo. (yawn!) – But in all honesty a project like this will never see the light of day! (more…)

(Excuse me for being rude but…) HAHA! shame, now we all know hate isn’t a good look and no one likes a sore loser right? RIGHT! Let the war of words continue. Lil’ Kim delivers her full attack against Nicki Minaj on “Black Friday.” Over Pharoahe Monch’s instrumental from “Simon Says,” the Queen Bee spits stinging words about the Harajuku Barbie and her Young Moneylabelmate: “This hood shit, you and Drake ain’t built for/ This the shit the other bitch almost got killed for.”

She doesn’t stop there, calling the Pink Friday lyricist a clone. “This ain’t a championship fight, I been the greatest/ See the fact is, what you doing, I did it/ Lames tryna clone my style and run wit it/ That’s cool, I was the first one wit it/ You’s a Lil’ Kim wannabe, you just hate to admit it.”

Even Nicki’s co-manager and Kim’s ex-affiliate Diddy is not safe. “You and Diddy, sorry bunch of swagger jackers,” she raps on the blistering track, which Hot 97’s DJ Absolutpremiered in full today.

It came to our attention that Lil Kim was dropped by former label and now has started an independent music group as no one wan’t her! I mean I did say that hate isn’t a good look! This was going to happen at some point or another, Lil Kim just get over it your career finished about 20 years ago, let someone else have their time! (more…)

Christina Milian and Kelis, the two mother put work on hold to take their childrento see “Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! There’s a Party in My City!” at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE. Kelis’ son Knight Jones, looking every bit like his father Nas, had his picture taken with the Nick Jr. show characters, while Christina’s daughter Violet Nash couldn’t keep her tiny hands off green monster Brobee.

However what everyone wants to see and hear about is Miss Milian’s divorce settlement! (here we go!) A lawyer for Milian reveals the divorce settlement has now been agreed amicably without the need for a court showdown.

Attorney Randy Kessler tells the Chicago Sun-Times, “Ms. Milian strongly believes that peaceful resolution is better for their child and that (sic) she is very pleased with the settlement and that it was accomplished out of court.” The couple’s financial settlement and custody plans for their daughter were not disclosed. Milian has already dismissed speculation about a massive pay out, writing in a post on her Twitter page, “Not one thing that is stated in this fake version of what Terius and I have agreed on is real.” (more…)

Jay-Z has topped the Billboard charts and Forbes list of wealthiest musicians, and now he finds himself atop a new chart. The rapper-turned-author’s first book Decoded has landed on The New York Times Best Sellers list. And how can we forget the compilation album being released by previous label Def Jam sitting around #6 on the album charts.

Sean Carter’s memoir Decoded debuts at No. 3 on the Hardcover Nonfiction edition of The New York Times Best Sellers list for the week of December 5. The top two spots are occupied by former President George W. Bush’s autobiography Decision Points and Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken.

The book, which provides insight into Jay-Z’s lyrics and life, has seen brisk sales since its release earlier this month. It was included on Oprah’s coveted “Favorite Things” show and is currently in the top 10 sellers on Amazon.com.

Entertainment Weekly gave Decoded an A-, calling it “Shawn Carter’s most honest airing of the experiences he drew on to create the mythic figure of Jay-Z,” while The New York Timessays “Decoded gives the reader a harrowing portrait of the rough worlds Jay-Z navigated in his youth, while at the same time deconstructing his lyrics.” – As part of TheMoMoShow.com’s 10,000th tweet give away you could win a copy of the hard back! With all eyes on Nicki Minaj who just released her debut album Pink Friday earlier last week, but she already has big plans for the future. The Young Money raptress told us that her five-year plan includes a film career, a perfume line, a clothingline, and records that feature her singing as much as rapping.

Minaj has already explored the latter with her debut, singing on many of the album cuts. “There’s this fear of not being perfect,” she tells the magazine. “There’s some songs I just won’t write because I’m afraid of it not meeting my expectation of what I know that song could be. I don’t compete with other people, I compete with myself.” The Harajuku Barbie, who recently launched a limited edition M·A·C lipstick, previously revealed her aspirations to win an Oscar. “We’re getting scripts,” she told DJ Drama. “We’re reading it, but we’re not saying nothing [yet].”

One thing is for sure, the head Barb has come a long way since moving from Trinidad at the age of five. “When I first came to America, I would go in my room and kneel down at the foot of my bed and pray that God would make me rich so that I could take care of my mother,” she says. “Because I always felt like if I took care of my mother, my mother wouldn’t have to stay with my father, and he was the one, at that time, that was bringing us pain. We didn’t want him around at all, and so I always felt like being rich would cure everything, and that was always what drove me.” (more…)

Nicki Minaj has many different alter-egos, but she assumed a new one—Nicki Teresa. The rapper, wearing a colorful scarf around her head, played healer to her fans, who lit up as soon as they saw her at The Garden of Dreams Foundation at Fuse studios in New York City this week.

Later on “106 & Park” rolled out the pink carpet—literally—for Nicki Minaj. With an audience filled with pink-haired Barbz, the Harajuku Barbie took over the countdown show for special taping of “106 & Nicki” on Pink Friday‘s release day. Two of her fans got Barbie makeovers and Nicki even teared up when asked what moment she would remember for the rest of her life.

“I’ll always remember today because if anybody told me this was gonna happen in my life, I never would have predicted this ever—ever,” said an emotional Nicki. “If I mess up my eyeliner, I’m gonna choke you.” – Real classy!

She also performed “Roman’s Revenge” and “Right Thru Me.”. The video to “Roman’s Revenge” is expected to be shot in the coming weeks whilst Nicki continues with her “Pink Friday” promotional tour! (more…)

God bless the team has to deal with all of Chris Brown‘s PR! After receiving glowing remarks from the judge during a progress report hearing yesterday, Chris Brown was all smiles at Us Weekly‘s Hot Hollywood “Stars Who Care” event at The Colony in Hollywood on Thursday night. The latest “Dancing with the Stars” castoff, Brandy, was honored for seeking a new heart for an ailing teen, while Nelly’s drive to sign up bone marrow donors earned him a spot on the list. Others lending their support to the charitable stars included Aubrey O’Day, Omarion, and Taio Cruz.

The R&B star was given five years probation and six months community labour after pleading guilty to assaulting former girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009. Brown’s community service has included cleaning roads and removing graffiti, reports BBC News.

“Out of thousands of probationers, no one has done a better or more consistent job than you have,” Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown. ”I really want to commend you for taking responsibility and for actually working diligently to complete all the things the court has required of you.” – I mean he is moving on, let’s just hope his fans still feel that way! After an album standard mixtape Drake was named one of GQ’s Men of the Year last year along with Kid Cudi and Wale, but this year after a sell out tour and #1 début album, he scored his own cover of the men’s magazine. He celebrated the honor at a swanky bash at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood this week. In the cover story, he reveals that his sophomore album will be titled Take Care.

“Don’t think for a second I can’t do better,” he said of the follow-up to this year’s Thank Me Later, for which he has been working with Noah “40” Shebib, Boi-1da, and 9th Wonder. “For Take Care, I’m trying to find a way to make my raps shorter but catchier. I’m trying to condense my thoughts down to 16 bars. And it’s coming out more potent.”

Drake is set to hit the UK with his tour this February and with tickets already sold out an extended plan is being drawn up by Universal Motown to extend the tour to an arena standard and to then put on a show along side record label mates. – Now that is a show which would sell out quicker than you can say “Young Money“, maybe Drake and Nicki will couple up for the tour? (Here we go!), Christina Milian fans have been patiently waiting for new music. After having a baby and separating from her husband, the 29-year-old singer is readying an album that will showcase her fun, sexy side.

“Next year I’ll finally be putting out a new album,” Christina said backstage at the American Music Awards. “I think I always say that, but this time I mean it. I just had to find some time to revamp and regroup everything for what this new album’s gonna be. It’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna be sexy, it’s gonna be everything that embodies what has happened in my life, but of course in the most fun manner.”

She hinted that she would address her separation from The-Dream, who she mothered a daughter with earlier this year. “There are a lot of secrets that are gonna be on there. I’m sure I’ll get to expose lots of sexy details,” she teased. “It’s gonna be fun, a lot of really good energy, a lot of great club songs. A lot of real intimate songs that are just true to my heart and what goes on in my life.”

The follow-up to 2006’s So Amazin’, previously titled Elope, will be reworked before its release in 2011. “It’s gonna be done through Interscope Records and we’re just getting started on revamping that album now.” – I really hope this album works for her; for so many reasons, I mean why should talent be wasted!
