Rihanna’s “LOUD” preview…

My friends at Island Def Jam handed over a mastered copy of Rihanna‘s new album “Loud” which is set to hit stores November 12th 2010! In all fairness, there has been a lot of hype around this Rihanna project and after listening to the album, well I can now see why. Although yes it is fast-food music and we have taken a trip down old Island routes. It will be interesting to see how this project goes, I know for a fact Island Def Jam sure believe this LP maybe yet “another” turning point in Rihanna‘s career – I’m just we don’t need to listen to another dark auto-tuned record
This could very well be the huge Album to fill the what Def Jam are still calling (but personally a little harsh on Rihanna) “Rated R” having a disappointing reception compared to ”Good Girl Gone Bad”. Def Jam are hoping to release every track off “Loud” as a single (yes, they are very confident!) As much as that sounds great, it will never happen! - Check out the review of each track after the jump!

Someone told me this song actually got some play on Atlanta radio the other day. I almost swallowed my tongue. Never thought we’d make it through the entire summer without Big getting a true mainstream embrace. But here we are at the second official single. It’s produced by Andre 3000 and features Yelawolf. The video is aight, definitely made on a shoestring budget compared to “Shutterbugg.” Could it be the same thing that kept Big on everyone’s mind over the past few years was a double-edged sword? The Sir Lucious Leftfoot album leaks, viral videos and resulting blog love probably went a long way in helping him ink the deal with Def Jam after Jive jumped ship. A “pregnant” Mariah falls during performance Diva style!

Legendary songbird Mariah Carey took a tumble while performing in Singapore this morning. While belting out her classic tune “Make It Happen” the diva slipped and fell in one of her signature high heels. However, Carey quickly summoned her helpers to remove the shoes and continued to sing like a true diva.
Of course falling during a performance has now become a trend in the industry, and if you’re not doing it then well your just not cool! But you see Mariah Carey takes it to the next level and does with even more glam and glitter! With MiMi still waiting for the this “baby” to come out, we can still all look forward to the new Christmas album “Merry Christmas II You” and her new compilation album which is yet to be given a release date!
That’s how a really diva handles business! Even while being tending to Carey kept singing live and laughing with the crowd, showing little sign of embarrassment. Kid Cudi pleas guilty to drug possession

Kid Cudi made headlines this past June after cops discovered a controlled substance on his person following an altercation with a woman at her New York City apartment. But after being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, he’s getting off easy.
The Cleveland native pled guilty to the misdemeanor charge this past Friday, receiving a sentence of two days of community service, according to our inside sources. Additionally, Cudder was ordered to steer clear of trouble over the next six months.
The “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper, who previously became a news fixture after he punched a fan during a Vancouver concert in December 2009, is gearing up for the release of his sophomore album Man on the Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager, due November 9. The sequel to his 2008 debut has already spawned the Kanye West-assisted single “Erase Me,” for which he shot the video last week.
The hip-hop star recently came clean about his drug troubles, admitting he became a cocaine addict to help him deal with the pressures of fame. He has since kicked his hard drug habit and now only smokes marijuana, but he admitted “I never thought it was a problem, but I was definitely high-fiving death a couple of times.” Read the rest of this entry »

That’s right!!! This is a TheMoMoShow.com exclusive, this afternoon a link to the sex tape of Trey Songz and an unknown woman was delivered to our headquarters. And after much research into this we can confirm that Trey Songz is indeed staring in his home made video!
Although his record label representatives in the UK under Warner Brother told us this evening that “at this moment we are not willing to discuss this subject, this is a personal matter between himself (Trey) and his partner” – YEAH RIGHT! I’m really sorry, but we were all in one way or another waiting for this to happen! I’m sure if you got googling right now you’d find it without a doubt! With Trey Songz walking out of three major endorsement deals including ones with Kodak, Rocawear and indeed cheap and friendly Target it’s already been suggested that Trey Songz will be removed from the Kodak endorsement! you never know he could of used a Kodak camera to film his little feature film! – Share the moment right?
Trey Songz is currently promoting his new album and will become the opening act for Usher‘s “OMG Tour”, like many people in the industry say “any PR is good PR”, maybe this little stunt may boost his album’s “Passion, Pleasure, Pain” poor album sales with this album being his worst opening week for any album in his career, with a disappointing 102,300 sales in the first week! Brace yourself guys, Red alert! Rihanna nearly caused a traffic jam in New York City while shooting the video for her new song “What’s My Name?” over the weekend. A smiling RiRi, sporting a colorful outfit and flaming red hair, danced in the streets on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, using drumsticks to bang on light posts. Passersby stopped to gawk and take pictures on their cell phones as the Barbados beauty crossed the street.
The video marks the first time the pop star has worked with director Philip Andelman (Beyoncé, Jay-Z). She previously shot a clip for her first single “Only Girl (In the World)”in California.
With only days left till the official campaign battle against some of pop’s biggest names begins - I’m sure Rihanna is just trying to get everything done in a short amount of time and one a very very very tight budget – from what I’m being told by my Island Def Jam friends!
Needless to say, I’m sure supporting the album will be another tour! (oh yay!…NOT) that’s if Rihanna’s fans make this album go all the way, we are being promised by her label a lot of “Amazing” things from this LP – which I’m sure will come. Lets not forget Rihanna is now the new face of Doritos! I mean you cannot get any cheesier than that now can we RiRi!
Mariah Carey pulls out the Christmas box a little early…

It may only be September, but Mariah Carey is getting in the holiday spirit. The pop diva has revealed the festive artwork and select song titles from the sequel to her holiday album.
The new collection of seasonal tunes is titled Merry Christmas II You and arrives Nov. 2, as TheMoMoShow.com first reported. The II represents the follow-up to 1994’s multi-platinum Merry Christmas album, which spawned the now-classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Mariah’s official website has unveiled the official cover artwork shot earlier this year by famed photographer David LaChapelle. The Grammy-winning songstress dons her Santa outfit from her 1994 album, and is pictured kneeling on a snowy city rooftop while a snowman and Christmas lights twinkle in the background.
The project will include a brand new recording of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” plus traditional yuletide fare such as “The First Noel,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.” In addition, there are four original songs composed by Mariah, including the newsingle “Oh Santa.”
Randy Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, James Poyser (The Roots, Lauryn Hill), and award-winning composer Marc Shaiman are among the producers. “Oh Santa,” the first single from Mariah’s new Holiday album, Merry Christmas II You, is currently scheduled to premiere at radio on Monday, October 11. L.A. Reid is not out of Island Def Jam, but in on Simon Cowell’s X Factor

With the the industry abuzz about LA Reid’s status with Universal Music, yet another spanner has been thrown into the works – courtesy of my tittle secret inside sources. The publication reports today that a key point has been omitted from the ‘has he/ hasn’t he been sacked’ debate; the fact that the Island Def Jam head has been in negotiations for a position on the judging panel of the X Factor US. – which is a Sony Music Entertainment production…Why is this a problem for his role at Universal, you may ask?
The music giant’s publicity machine beat back blog reports that Reid had been fired from his job as chairman of Island Def Jam Records, and we hear the speculation was tied to Reid’s discussions with producers of both “American Idol” and “The X Factor” about becoming a judge on one of the shows.
A source close to the situation says that if “X Factor,” which is now produced by rival Sony, makes Reid a firm offer, he’ll have to leave Universal to take it. Initially, music industry insiders told us that Reid’s desire for a TV closeup had angered other Universal executives because of Island Def Jam’s recent poor performance. As critics are happy to point out, Reid lost Jay-Z to Warner Music Group last year, Mariah Carey’s most recent album tanked, and Rihanna’s latest release underwhelmed. Drake kicks off tour at Miami as crowd lights up!

Drake turned up the Miami heat when he kicked off his “Light Dreams and Nightmares” tour at the James L. Knight Center on Monday night . Drizzy upped the ante for his headlining trek in support of his debut album Thank Me Later, adding more lights, background singers, and additional time on stage. His Young Money labelmate Tyga replaced Clipse as the opening act and Birdman helped hold it down for Lil Wayne.
“This is my first time ever being able to create a world,” Drake told MTV News of his new stage setup. “Prior to this, I’ve had to create my world through performance. You literally have to get lost in the music to make you feel like you were somewhere else.”
The night before the opening show, Drake was seen celebrating his father’s birthday at upscale Asian eatery Philippe. The “Light Dreams and Nightmares” tour travels across the country, stopping in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, wrapping Nov. 6 in Las Vegas, the day after Weezy is expected to be released from jail. As we speak, developments on Drake‘s world tour are in the final stages and we could see tickets for his UK tour hit the shelves as soon as a this year. Rihanna fails to impress Katy Perry at her bachelorette party!

That’s right! The freaks came out for Katy Perry’s bachelorette party. After months of planning, Rihanna threw her BFF a celebration over the weekend in Las Vegas. The pop stars attended KÁ by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand, posing with the cast backstage. RiRi contrasted her striking red locks with a form-fitting white dress, while the “California Gurl” wore a tiny veiled hat with the word “Bride” on it. Perry is due to marry actor Russell Brand later this year.
While there was no word on whether Rihanna stripped for Katy as she hoped, she still seemed to be enjoying herself. “Signing up for a liver transplant now,” joked the bride-to-be after a wild night of partying.
In related news, the Bajan babe took to Twitter to clear up the confusion surrounding her leaked video for “Who’s That Chick.” “‘Who’s that Chick’ is an online music video/commercial that we shot for Doritos and it got leaked,” she wrote. “I don’t want u to get confused…doritos is in no way connected to LOUD.” – really!? sweetie the e-mail for Island Def Jam didn’t say that!
