R&B crooners Chris Brown and Usher are reportedly going on tour together. – Okay here we go!
According to their mutual friend and producer,Bryan Michael Cox, the two hit-makers are also planning on recording a track together. – I find the all really hard to believe, even though they are label friends but Chris Brown‘s tour just got axed due to reasons which I’m not going to mention (don’t worry RiRi it’s not you!). And with Usher only pushing out two extention LPs to his “Raymond Vs Raymond” I just don’t see this project taking off!
The Grammy-winning songwriter revealed on YouTube: “Usher and the boy Chris Brown are going on tour, y’all know that, right? I might’ve just gave y’all some exclusive s**t!” Chris Breezy then took to his Twitter to add fuel to the fire by saying: “What would you guys say if me and Usher went on tour?” If this is to happen, we are pretty sure all the females around the world will make sure this event is sold out in no time. Good marketing skills!
But don’t get too excited, I’m sure some where down the line something or someone will get cancelled and then this would lead to more drama, and then who knows Chris Brown might even decided to hit/bite someone else (just kidding). Good luck with this one…but it’s just too good to be true! (more…)
Rap star T.I. has announced that his upcoming album, “King Uncaged” will now come out next month. According to the rapper he has just really focused on promoting his new movie, “Takers“. He told us: “I pushed the album back so I can completely focus my attention to the rollout and release of this film “Takers“. I feel it wouldn’t be fair to the film or the album if I was splitting my attention span amongst the two, so I hit pause on the album to completely focus my attention to rolling out this here film.
“Once we prayerfully debut No. 1-25-plus, 20-plus million, then after those bottles have been popped and that celebration is underway, I will completely re-submerge myself back into the music, fully on album mode.” In other T.I. news, the rapper made an epic comeback in a concert that was held in New York earlier this week and he was joined onstage by the likes of Mary J. Blige, Swizz Beatz and B.o.B. R&B singer Keri Hilson and rappers Cam’ron and Maino also made appearances.
After the show Tip took to his Twitter page and posted: “Special thank you to Axe for providing a magical night for my 1st concert back!! SO (shout out) to my partners for holding me down tonight- Mjb, Keri, Cam, MAino, Ricco, Swizz, B.” – In all fairness, not 100% shocked that the album was pushed back…really come on now this is T.I. we are dealing with here. Beyonce has been hard at work in the studio crafting her next record recently. However, the diva took some time to talk about her life including a new revelation that might shock some of her fans – the era of Sasha Fierce may be over for good. Either that or she has just realised that she’s made enough money.
“I don’t need Sasha so much any more because these days I know who I am. It takes time to figure out who you are and I am still discovering different things about myself – as I am exposed to different experiences I think, “Oh, I like this, I didn’t know I liked this.” That’s the journey of life that is so exciting. More and more I know who I am, I know what I like, I know what I want and that makes me feel so free. I don’t need to hide any more.”
The real question is whether Beyonce will be retiring the musical persona of Sasha Fierce as well. There have been several indications that she will be taking a fresh approach with her upcoming album and if that is truly the case then it may be time to put her usual beat-driven and lyrically shallow style to rest in favour of more personal expression.”
Although she may have won several awards on the basis of popularity for ”Single Ladies“, I sense that Beyonce has been churning out such tunes as a way for her to compensate for her lack of artistic depth. Beyonce definitely has the talent to create iconic material. “Impossible” was created because Shontelle felt there were no ballads in the charts at the time. ”I knew that there was no song out there for heartbroken people. I just wanted to put a song out that gave people hope – things may not work out the way you want them to, but you can move past it and everything is gonna be okay.” Shontelle also spoke of how the song showed her vulnerable side, that it’s okay to be embarrassed by a lover and move on from it. She said she wanted the song to connect with listeners who had been through a similar situation and help them draw the strength to carry on past a break up where you’re the one in the embarrassing position.
Despite the song being almost a few months old now, “Impossible” has re-entered charts – and with this pop ballad originally written for JoJo, this song was handed to Shontelle; who then changed it and made it her own. In a nut shell this was yet another budget video! The video is a reflection of the past. During the first chorus, Shontelle is talking to her boyfriend and they start caressing. In the second chorus, Shontelle and her boyfriend are arguing while Shontelle is also shown writing a song and scribbling off words. Later, her boyfriend is having a beer at a party. He is celebrating his platinum success. Afterwards, Shontelle receives a letter from a recording studio. Later, she is putting away glasses and bottles. At the end, a reflection is shown in black and white. The final scene is kissing her boyfriend on the head, and then goes back to the present, where Shontelle is getting into a taxi. – Without a doubt, it’s a beautiful record! (more…)
We where lucky enough to catch up with Mariah Carey’s other half…he spoke to us exclusively over the telephone earlier this month! The interview covers variety of topics ranging from his desire to be respected by his peers, to his constant battles with the media over his wife of two years, Mariah Carey.
(Q). Where or to whom do you turn when you’re confused or challenged? I turn to God more than anything, because prayer changes things. Other than that, my wife is my best friend, so we talk about any and everything… [it] always helps to have a companion that no matter what’s going on, you can always go to that person and share everything.
(Q.) Does the media attention ever interfere with the harmony at home? No, we don’t pay any attention to the media. Once we are in the confines of our home, all of that other stuff just goes out of the window.
(Q.) Is the age difference ever an issue in your relationship?
When it comes to the age difference, my wife and I don’t even pay attention to that. I think at some point, everyone obviously recognizes that there is an age difference, but it’s just like anybody else’s relationship. You don’t really think about how old your spouse is when you’re dealing with them every day. We’re both on the same page and we both have a youthful spirit. I’ve always been around people that were a lot older than me. All of my best friends are a lot older than me, and I’ve always been attracted to people that were a little more mature than myself.
(Q). Why do you think that the public is so eager to see you take on fatherhood? I actually appreciate people wanting me to be a father. I don’t think that people understand that we have our own lives, and that we are going to do it when we want to do it, instead of when they want us to do it. But I appreciate everyone being so eager about this process between me and my wife. (Q).As a married man, what advice would you give to guys on being faithful, and keeping the romance alive? Before you get married, get it all out of your system. Don’t do it until you’re ready, and make sure that the person that you’re with is worth your faithfulness and worth your time … then you won’t even have to think about doing anything because no one will be on your wife’s level. You’ll have so much love for that person that there’s no way that you can be tempted, you wouldn’t want to lose it. It’s a simple fact. If you’ve got a 1985 Nissan Sentra, when a Bentley drives by, you’re gonna want that Bentley. But if you didn’t settle, and you make sure that you’ve got your own Bentley, then you won’t even think about any other cars when they drive by.
(Q). By contrast, what advice would you give to women to keep men engaged in the relationship? If I had to give women advice – not that I know anything – but I would just say that you should strip away your man’s ego. You have to cater to who he is as a person, and understand that we’re emotional as well, and that [the] main emotion is ego. So if you can strip away that, then everything else will be good. (more…)
“Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time…of all time!” - Despite his headline-grabbing appearance at last year’s show, MTV has invited Kanye West back to perform at this year’s Video Music Awards.
All eyes will be on Mr. West when he takes the stage at the 27th annual show – just make sure you brace yourselves – it may be Justin Bieber this time round.
Kanye had everyone talking after he interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech at last year’s event. He was reportedly asked by MTV to leave the show following the spectacle. But the hoopla is bound to attract viewers who will be tuning in to see whether Kanye has any more surprises up his sleeve.
The VMA gig is only one of many things Kanye has planned for this year. “More music … I’m bout to drop a bunch of shit this year.. surprise performances.. guest verses… living in the studio,” tweeted the rapper, whose fifth album is set for a November release.
Maybe we should give Kanye West the benefit of the doubt – after all he did announced he was a changed man? – right? But if you’re asking me MTV is so just doing this so they boost up the views, and a VMA will never be a VMA without Kanye West!

Jennifer Lopez had been lined up to fill one of the empty seats on the ‘American Idol’ judging panel but those plans have been scrapped. It is being reported that former force on the music charts had too many “out of hand” demands and the Fox network simply “had enough”. This news comes on the heels of rumours that a diva with actual vocal talent, Mariah Carey, has her eye on one of the judging spots.
Clearly Lopez didn’t get the memo that her career is only two drips away from being flushed down the toilet. With her music failing to make a dent on the charts and a movie career that has become more stagnant than ever, Lopez needs capitalise on every available avenue if she wishes to remain relevant. In other words, stop acting like a diva and just be happy that you’re even invited to watch the show. I’m just so glad something finally hit Jennifer Lopez in the face!
I mean, it’s one thing to be dropped by your label, then to be stripped from all your endorsement deals and now to be rejected as a judge from a vanishing talent contest! – Girl! Who you fooling? It’s clear that Jennifer Lopez‘s efforts are much needed in her acting career. I mean we all love some “Jenny from the black”, but Jenny packed her bags and moved out along time ago.
Jennifer Lopez is currently working on a new project with new label Island Def Jam (do not ask me why, they took her on! – epic fail right there, but then L.A.Reid is on his way out so who cares! right?) which is set for release later this year.

I mean when she released her new records, there wasn’t much love from her fans…Jennifer Lopez! no fans! “Louboutins” was an okay track and when the track failed with Jennifer Lopez it was handed to Brandy which climbed to mid 50s in the chart? – Just trying to figure out how J-Lo has managed to stir her career right to the ground…
After finally ditching Preeya Kalidas to “Shimmy” by herself the doors have been left wide open for Mumzy Stranger. East London singer and rapper is finally ready to release some new work since the early projects of his career from almost a year ago. Despite just coming off a record which almost fell into the minus off the charts (Preeya Kalidas “Shimmy“), there is already hype circulating industry floors building up the heat of his next single release titled “Fly With Me“.
Impossible to box in a specific genre, “Fly With Me“ draws influences from dance music combined with smooth R&B vocals and a distinct dancehall flavour – Co-written and co-produced with renowned producer and long time mentor, Rishi Rich, Mumzy Stranger has been making a name for himself on the urban and Asian underground scene over the last few years. Mumzy started out on East London’s grime scene battling with other MCs before discovering the Asian club scene when he started University. Combing the two genres with his love of dancehall music, Mumzy Stranger started becoming one of the key figures on the Asian music scene.
Already playing to crowds of 60,000 people (something which some “main-stream” artists fail to do – no names, but just though I’d drop Rihanna in this one!) Mumzy Stranger will be finishing his debut album which will be released in 2011. As you can expect from an artist who mixes sounds and styles, he is determined not to be pigeonholed. He told us “I’m not an Asian doing R&B music. I’m a soulful, R&B, bashment artist who happens to be Asian. Chris Brown has refused to talk about Eminem and ex-girlfriend Rihanna‘s violent video for “Love The Way You Lie“.
The promo, which stars Megan Fox and Lost actor Dominic Monaghan is themed around domestic violence, showing the pair trapped in an abusive relationship – a topic that after Chris assaulted RiRi last year would know all about.
Brown infamously attacked Rihanna – who sings the chorus on the track – before the 2009 Grammy Awards and was found guilty of assault following the incident. Journalists quizzed Brown about the video when he was promoting his new movie “Takers“ (with T.I.), but the shamed singer refused to answer any questions related to the promo. He turned to the help of his representative who ordered that the journalist ask Chris another question, unrelated to Rihanna or the “Love The Way You Lie“ video.
Rihanna previously stated that she wanted to sing the chorus for Eminem because she connected to the abusive lyrics, with the song itself said to be based on the fiery relationship between Em and his ex-wife Kim Mathers. However tables turned Chris Brown‘s new single titled “Deuces” featuring Tyga has been claimed by outside sources to be aimed at Rihanna. Odd how just about Chris Brown makes his quite return to the music and “normal” life, Rihanna manages to push him back under the rock where he’s been hiding…oh well. (more…)
