Welcome to Jamrock! Jamaican-American star Sean Kingston lights up the dance floor with his fellow islander Nicki Minaj in the teaser for “Letting Go (Dutty Love),” the dancehall-flavored single from his upcoming album.
The 20-year-old singer revealed that he has a crush on the Young Money rapper. “I just think that Nicki Minaj is beautiful,” he told MoMo. “Ya’ll don’t be shocked if you hear that Nicki Minaj and Sean Kingston is going out.” – yeah you wish!
It just seems a little too alike “Put It In A Love Song”, and even though many believed that Sean Kingston was long gone, have now been proven wrong! With the success of his track with Justin Bieber, fatty fatty fat fat may just manage to get himself a good album lead and maybe high sales?
Maybe this could be the turning point for Sean Kingston? After exchanging vows in a Miami Beach courthouse, T.I. and Tiny celebrated their marriage with a fairytale wedding on the exclusive Star Island on Saturday (July 31).
The bride and groom both wore white and arrived in a horse-drawn carriage. They were joined by some of their celebrityfriends including Usher, Nelly, Ashanti, Jermaine Dupri, Angela Simmons, Bow Wow, Diamond, and Kim Porter. Monica, Antonia “Toya” Carter, and Kandi Burruss were bridesmaids.

Drake’s ‘Fancy’ was Mary J. Blige’s song first, Swizz Beatz reveals

“‘Fancy‘ has been well-traveled,” said Swizz Beatz, who produced the song. “It started off as a Swizz record. Then I got Mary [J. Blige] on it. It was supposed to be on her [Stronger With Each Tear], but we missed the deadline. Then I pulled it back for my [upcoming] record. Then five o’clock one morning, on the phone speaking with Drake, he’s in a different time zone, we’re trying to figure out what he needs [for his album]. He’s like, ‘Yo, I just need a record for the ladies.’ I’m on my computer playing him joints over the phone. Then I played him ‘Fancy.’ I was like, ‘You want something like this?’ But I was playing it as a reference.”
On the original version of “Fancy,” Swizz raps about an educated girl who works at the Guggenheim Museum, while MJB sang about an independent female. “She got it all together,” Blige sings. “She don’t need you to help her/ She got her own paper/ She don’t need you to take her on a shopping spree/ My girl’s fancy, fly and free.” Drake didn’t want something like what Swizz played; he wanted that exact song for his album. ”He was like, ‘That’s the record I need,’ ” Swizz recalled. “I said, ‘OK, I’ll make you that.’ ” Drake replied: “No. That’s the record I need.”
“I’m a producer first,” Swizz said. “So he can have the record. I’m still on it, it’s still love. He’s a heck of an artist, and I feel no ways but honored.” The finished version of the song we hear on the album features Drake, Swizz and T.I., but at least one other MC was on the wish list to be on the song. ”Andre 3000 was supposed to be on ‘Fancy,’ ” Swizz revealed. “Drake had a group of people he wanted to be on it: Andre, Tip, this one, that one. But the deadline for the album rushed a lot of things. [Drake] can tell you the rest, but Tip just wound up being on it. Which I’m cool with, cause that’s the homie.”. Ciara dropped from Usher’s project!

Despite earlier reports that Ciara‘s “Basic Instinct“ LP had been pushed back to September, news has now surfaced that the record will not arrive in stores until October 5th. This marks the 3rd time that the release date of the album, which is being primarily handled by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, has been rescheduled with the 1st being a change from August 24th to August 17th. {Source}
What in the name of Prince, Janet and Mariah Carey is going on with Ciara team? The previous changes to the album’s release date were understandable but now it seems that they do not have a proper handle on this project. With the substantial airplay that “Ride“ is receiving and the buzz surrounding “Gimme That“ there is no apparent reason why this record should not hit stores in September.
All of these changes do not bode well to boost the confidence of consumers regarding the quality of the album, especially since Ciara’s last project,“Fantasy Ride“, remained stagnant on the shelves. Get it together people!
So, 2010 is dealing yet another upset to Ciara. The sultry performer will no longer be featured on Usher’s new song, ”Hot Toddy“, from his upcoming ”Versus“ LP (in stores on August 24th). In fact, the song, which surfaced less than a day ago, will only include a contribution from Jay-Z with backing vocals from Ester Dean. There is no word as to why the change! Kelly Rowland recruits star studded team for October release

With the buzz for Kelly Rowland’s new material at all-time high, the 29 year old has revealed that her 3rd studio album will now be hitting stores on October 26th. The record had previously been set to hit retailers on September 21st, however was postponed due to the Destiny’s Child singer hitting the studio with some of the industry’s biggest hitmakers.
Speaking of which, Rowland also confirmed that label-mate Akon will be producing on the as yet untitled album. The singer/songwriter /producer joins the all-star cast who have collaborated with Rowland on the record – inclusive being Tricky Stewart, Ne-Yo, David Guetta, Rico Love, Bangladesh, Jim Jonsin, Ester Dean, Dr Luke and Stargate.
Kelly Rowland recently said in an interview, “I remember hearing Janet Jackson saying once ‘With every album we grow, and we can’t be afraid of it. Because we never know everything, and we learn something new every day.” – it’s clear this child of destiny has really got her eyes on the goal, and with her huge single “Commander” still climbing charts it does looks like Kelly Rowland‘s album is going to shock a lot of people! What is behind Ne-Yo’s new album?

The MoMo Show was lucky enough to get a leak of the album form Island Def Jam. “Libra Scale” certainly boasts an intriguing and ambitious concept, which Ne-Yo should be commended for when considering the sameness’ of the music industry of today. What’s more, musically, he remains ever consistent (save for a few tracks).
However, the album’s story risks making the material come up short due to its lack of lyrical vividness or explicitness. By that, I mean – Ne-Yo informed us at the start of the playback that he was inspired by Michael Jackson’s out-of-the-box concepts to do something different. Yet unlike Jackson, he serves up little in the vein of ‘Annie are you ok?!’ or “the kid is not my son” – lyrics which forced listeners to create ‘imaginary worlds’ and replay the lyrics – as if they were there – in their heads. Rather, it feels as though he’s presenting a collection of (albeit good songs), which are largely about the same treaded-on subject matter (living the life, love etc), and tying them together with an interesting, yet somewhat confused story.
Maybe it’s just that we’re not used to seeing like acts such as Ne-Yo changing their musical direction? – We’ll have to wait and see for this one! Read the rest of this entry »
“Mariah’s album is complete” says JD

That’s right, news just in that Mariah Carey‘s album is finished according to producer Jermaine Dupri. Although a little shocking to see Mariah Carey push out yet another album since the mess of “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” this 41 year old diva has yet again out done herself. This “untitled” album would be Mariah Carey‘s 25th album, and this could mean a potential 20th #1 single? – Maybe, with huge producers on the LP including the likes of Red One, Darkchild, The Neptunes and Star Gate this is set to be the “Emancipation of MiMi” killer! Sources says that features will include Drake, Nicki Minaj, Phrarell, Mary J Blige, T.I and Jay Z (and many other unconfirmed acts as well!).
As much as i’m happy for Mariah Carey, this is way too early for MiMi to push out yet another 19 track album for her fans, I mean we all love Mariah Carey – but she already having two new compilation albums out and not to forget her extended line of fragrances. Seriously MiMi, isn’t that enough? Even though good friend Jermaine Dupri is going round saying it’s complete doesn’t mean that this project is anywhere near it’s release, although Jermaine Dupri and Mariah Carey promised a lead single by November. Kanye West drops “Good Ass Job” title

Kanye West no longer wants a “Good Ass Job“. After much speculation, the hip-hop star has revealed that he is cooking up a new album title.
West took to his new Twitter page (which he only just recently joined!) to answer the question his fans have been asking, what will he name his fifth album? “The album is no longer called Good Ass Job I’m bouncing a couple of titles around now,” he wrote.
He earlier announced that he would continue the college theme of his previous albums “The College Dropout“, “Late Registration“, and “Graduation“. “Good Ass Job” was to be the last installment in the series.
Kanye West’s fifth album is scheduled for a September 14 release, and with very little hype around Mr West himself it looks like this project could be on the verge of crashing to the ground. We got a chance to speak to an insider of the project who told us “Well, first of all, if you look at all of Kanye West‘s output, he actually did a lot to bring back sampling and make it cool again, even though he’s more of a mainstream artist…but his new album is strictly hard beats and rhyme. He’s totally done with electro. You’re gonna be surprised what you hear.”
I’m still undecided about what exactly Kanye West‘s sound is, with very little time push out the album and with the first single off the LP (this isn’t even the official lead) “Power“, there is no doubt that this project will get pushed back all the way to 2011. Read the rest of this entry »
Christina Milian is one hot Mama!

Since her high profile split with The-Dream, Christina Milian has not been camera shy! Making a photo appearance everyday, she’s surely letting the world know she’s single and loving it!
After partying all night with Serena Williams, the baby mama (minus her wedding ring) headed to the Westfield Mall (for those in the UK, that’s just Westfields) , for some shopping with her mother Carmen. Christina Milian must have known the paps would be on her tail because she dressed up for the occasion, teetering in stiletto boots while pushing little Violet Nash in a stroller.
Or maybe of course this could be another day in the life of Christina Milian…I think not! But at the same time good for her! I’m glad she’s making the most out of this because really this is what Christina Milian really needs right now and with an expected album on the way she needs all the attention she can get.

Shimmy Shimmy yah now!

Yes it’s the soap-star to pop-star Preeya Kalidas‘ (also know as Amira form EastEnders and other cameos), début single “Shimmy” has done better with the public reaction than what critics expected when the single was first relieved. Although the single says very little (only two verses to be exact and even one of those is taken by up and coming star Mumzy Stranger) the song is the cry for help of the techo-pop-euro rubbish that is being circulated, answered! Yes it’s different, but with the amazing video full of colour and edginess this is a strong single from the album which is as yet untitled!
Preeya Kalidas also performed live on the national lottery with Mumzy Stranger in front of a live television audience of millions. With the single aside, industry cheeses are looking closely at the project set to be the largest British Asian mainstream release since Jay Sean (who was under the same label with Mumzy Stranger). Needless to say, “Shimmy” will do well and Shimmying partner Mumzy Stranger has also got huge début plans set out for the last quarter of 2010.
