Look it’s everyone’s favourite girl band! NOT! So despite the poor “success” if any of the their new line-up début album titled “Sweet 7” the Sugababes have decided to go back to the drawing board and rethink and revamp their over all careers or what’s left of it! Longest serving member Heidi Range lifted the lid on the commencement of recording  earlier this week, “We’re only three days into recording our new album, so it’s early days. We’re not sure about any collaboration yet and we don’t even know when it’s going to be released.”. They lead singer Amelle added “We’re keeping to our Sugababes sound but we’re also hoping to try new things too.”. In all fairness what the Sugababes need to understand is that their music is pretty good (they had a strong line-up of singles” it’s their image!

Right now a lot of hate is being pressed on to the Sugababes who recently kicked out one of the old-school orginals Keisha; when she left so did any credibility of a good future for the Sugababes. Work has it that they have clocked studio time with producers who worked on the more successful albums of the Sugababes (and the more successful line-up) on projects like “Three” and “Change”. I can’t help but wonder where is Jade being put in all of this! I personally feel she left a secure solo career and jumped straight from the frying pan into the fire! – sad times! Let just hope this LP charts this time! For good times sake i’ve put Keisha’s version of “About A Girl”. (more…)

Yes, so Mr West aka Kanye West, has just been told by Def Jam officials to push forward his new LP titled “Good Ass Job”, pulled from the original release date of September 21st, the LP release has now been placed with September 14th – the same day when Kid Cudi and Trey Songz will release their much anticipated albums.

Without a doubt this album battle will definitely see Trey Songz being hit first! his previous LP titled “Ready” saw poor sales and then a poor follow up of official singles which over all lead to the album’s promotion to be axed totally!

Even more so; Kid Cudi‘s fan base has seem to grown even further from the days of “Day and Night”! A lot if being expected from Kanye West on this new album, DJ Premier (who is in the studio with West) told us in an exclusive interview “Well, first of all, if you look at all of Kanye West‘s output, he actually did a lot to bring back sampling and make it cool again, even though he’s more of a mainstream artist…but his new album is strictly hard beats and rhyme. He’s totally done with electro. You’re gonna be surprised what you hear.”. Supported by that is the new “lead” single from the album “Power”, although very different from the standard Kanye West track it’s seemed to be having a good reception!

Also confirmed producers on the album have also lined up Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em; although very little information on the album is available the Def Jam HQ confirms it’s going to be a hit! – Let the battles begin!  (more…)

“I do have my first child on the way, and I’m very, very, very excited about that,” the 30-year-old star told the magazine. “It’s a New Year’s baby and I’m just in a really good place right now.” – That’s right you herd it! Singer/songwriter Ne-Yo will be expecting his first child with Monyetta Shaw – well that put the “gay” rumours at bay…well for a little while that is.

The singer, who has written number one hits for Rihanna and Beyonce, said, “I am 30 and I do have my first child on the way and I’m very, very, very excited about that,” adding, “It’s a New Year’s baby.”.

In 2005 then-girlfriend Jessica White bore a son, Chimere (named after Ne-Yo, who was born Shaffer Chimere Smith). It later transpired that Ne-Yo was not the father. On learning the truth, he said at the time, “He’s known no other father but me since the day he was born, and though I did not make him, I am his father and he is my son.” - talk about “baby mama” drama!

Moving on, Besides promoting his new album Libra Scale, Ne-Yo is currently writing material for Leona Lewis‘ next album. He was also working on a track for Michael Jackson before the King of Pop’s untimely death a year ago. On the anniversary of Michael’s passing, Ne-Yo spoke of the moment he heard the news: “I remember crying like a family member had died and, like, literally asking myself, ‘Why am I crying like this?’…”. Nicki Minaj may ooze sex appeal, but the hip-hop honey is making a conscious effort to take it down a notch.

“I made a conscious decision to try to tone down the sexiness,” she went on to say “I want people; especially young girls—to know that in life, nothing is going to be based on sex appeal. You’ve got to have something else to go with that.”

While she strives to be a role model, she also embraces her individuality. “I don’t mind being called a weirdo,” shares the “Your Love” rapper. “There are a lot of people in hip-hop who are probably never going to get what I do. But, by just being myself, I end up touching a lot more people who might never have paid much attention to a female rapper.”

We all know Nicki Minaj has worked with Usher, Ludacris, Robin Thicke, and Lil Wayne, but she’s still in awe of her collaboration with a pop diva. “Not only did we do a song together, but I was in a video with Mariah Carey! I still haven’t gotten over that!” – All in all I’m not too sure how Nicki Minaj‘s will respond to this! Surely isn’t Nicki Minaj a fun stage name that she puts on and works her stuff and then she just leaves her on the stage!?

If anything i’m sure this is going to tail back to the Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim beef! Now everyone is trying to be a good sister all of a sudden! Please! Do us all a favour and just stick to your music!  (more…)

With all respect Def Jam records just released the highly-anticipated first single off of one half of Outkast, Big Boi’s, album, “Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty“, that seems to have pushed back for a while. The album is due out on May 4th, so expect to hear some more tracks soon. “Shutterbug” has an uptempo, synthed-out Outkast backdrop complete with a staccato bass thumps and funkadelic crooning. Big Boi, of course, contributes his signature aggressive rhyme style and sets the tone for what will be the first solo album from either member of Outkast. Stay on the lookout for more of this spaced out neo-pop music that refuses to be categorized. All in all, with an track so hot selected to be the lead single of the very long titled début album “Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty” everyone has already started the crazy for Big Boi.

With the label being very tight about releasing any further information about the promotion of the album it seems clear that Def Jam want Big Boi to have the right reception coming from one of the greatest Pop/HipHop duos of all time.

Lady GaGa’s next studio album is complete. The entertainer revealed the news in the latest issue of Rolling Stones magazine and noted that the title of the LP, which hits stores early next year, will be revealed on New Year’s Eve. Check out what GaGa had to say.

Sources told us that there are very few details out there about what Gaga’s next album will sound like, but she say it’s already finished. She’s planning to announce the title of the album — due early next year — at midnight on New Year’s Eve. “I think I’m gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo,” she said. “I’ve been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished right now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day.”

It looks like Lady GaGa is going to continue her trend of making everything a dramatic affair. It’s certainly an ingenious move to capitalise on every opportunity to build hype for the next LP. Knowing Lady GaGa, she’ll probably announce the album title amidst a fireworks display, launched by cannon fire and 50 virgins singing in a chorus line at the strike of midnight; you know, because that’s how she do!

Jay-Z may be having one of the biggest years of his career at the age of 40, but despite his success, T.I. is not looking to follow in his peer’s footsteps. The King of the South hasplans to settle down before 40.

“I’m not going to be the 40-year-old rapper. I would not,” said in a recent interview. “That’s Jay. He’s doing it very well. Hats off, but I just don’t see that for me.”

T.I., who will release his new album King Uncaged on August 17, prefers to take the path of another super-successful rapper. “If I had the option to [be] Jay-Z [or] Will Smith, I think I’d go with Will,” he revealed. “I’m a Jay-Z fan. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Jay and his legacy. But I feel like Will, he gets to spend more time with hisfamily. He gets to be home more and actually raise his kids. I feel like he has more of a home life…and the money don’t hurt. Twenty million dollars a flick ain’t bad.”

The star of the upcoming film Takers plans to turn his attention toward movies because of the less demanding schedule. “You’re on set 12 hours, you go home. Music, it ain’t got no hours,” he explained. Although his rapping days may be numbered, he will still remain behind the scenes. “I will still definitely have my hands in music ’cause I have a passion for music. I still will produce music, I still will write music, I still will executive produce music, I still will put artists out through my label, create opportunities and cultivate careers.” (more…)

Yes! You herd right! Fresh from her performance at the World Cup opening ceremony, Alicia Keys got her unborn baby blessed in a traditional Zulu ceremony in South Africa. The couple were spotted after the “closed” ceremony was leaked out to the surrounding press. Both Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz looked very happy despite the huge and unexpected media turn out!

She was chosen to recieve the blessing after doing charity work for Bobbi Bear, which receives donations from the “Empire State Of Mind” singer. A spokesperson for the charity, which runs a weekly HIV clinic, told the Daily Mail: ”Alicia has been made part of the tribal family because she really reached out to the people here.” Sources went on to say ”‘Two female priests who practise a mix of Christianity and tribal customs chose new names for her and the unborn child, as a mark of respect. The names were kept between them, but were chosen to reflect Alicia’s character.”

I’m really happy that Alicia Keys has finally put everything on hold and has started to enjoy this time with her new to be husband Swizz Beatz, they are set to have their bundle of joy around December 2010! Not too long now! For more pictures of the ceremony scroll over here! (more…)

Bow Wow has spoken about his past struggles when it comes to landing magazine cover features.

The rapper has revealed that although things have improved for him, he is determined to appear on the cover of hip-hop’s biggest selling publication, XXL Magazine.

He wrote on his blog: “So today I’m shooting my cover for Murder Dog mag. I’m excited because I remember when it was hard for me to get covers on some of hip-hop magazines. It took a long time to get source cover, but eventually I did. If only i can get XXL, but that’s another story.” Well I’m not surprised, with no recent acting or music work fresh from Bow Wow, why would anyone want them on their front cover let alone get excited about him!

“I just say respect the work, and music. At the end of the day it’s all about politics. So all my fans be on the lookout for the cover.” – huh? So it’s clear that Bow Wow is admitting that he’s PR team are having a little issues and that it’s very clear now that the public has lost a lot of interest in him.

In other news Bow Wow confirmed to us that “Who Is Shad Moss?” is the upcoming seventh studio album by the rapper, slated for release in 2010. This should be interesting as the first album to be released under the Cash Money label. The new album is set to be a double CD release with it’s main producers of the likes of Jermaine Dupri.
