Battle of the Sexes!

ludacris-la-laWith Luda’s new single still floating around “How Low”, the hype for his new album “Battle of the Sexes” is getting hotter and hotter! A sources told us “Originally due in 2009, Battle of the Sexes was tagged as a collaboration album by Ludacris and label-mate Shawnna. A promotional single titled “Everybody Drunk as Fuck” which features vocals from Shawnna was released in April 2009. Shawnna reportedly split from Disturbing tha Peace in 2009 and signed to Nappy Boy Entertainment. It was later reported that Shawnna was removed from the album and became a solo album by Ludacris” – Sad times!

But as per usual, he broke through with the new single which reception went well in the R&B charts. With himself being the only act on his record label it looks like he’ll be pumping his own money into the promotion of this album! (more…)

Sean Garrett and Nikki Minaj!?

VIBE_Sean_GarrettOkay, so as odd as this sounds, Sean Garrett and Nikki Minaj have not only been making music together…(do i need to say more!?).

Okay so yet again the “Chrihanna” couple have been kicked to the side with a “hot” new R&B and Hip-Hop couple that will soon be all up in everyone’s business. It’s a bit odd personally! Nikki Minaj being the industry’s answer to a Missy yet Lil Kim!? and Sean Garrett, – well he has a good voice. Either way they both making money and with Nikki making her huge début across the entire music flex and with a début album on the way – it’s about time she put a ring on it!? Right!? Let me know my MoMos! New single… (more…)

Ke$sha – Animal (4.5 Stars)

2s8gtv9Okay, so I was pretty luck to get the album before official release and I must say – it was one of the very few albums that I listen to entirely! Come on now guys, she over took Susan Boyle on the Billboards!

Must say the people at RCA records did pretty well with the entire promotion of the album, and I think it was a good and safe choice that they’ve chosen “Blah Blah Blah” as her next single (i will shoot myself if i hear Tik Tok or any sort of remix!). Overall I thought all 16 tracks where pretty good, although there were times I was tempted to press the “next” button – but it wasn’t so bad!.

The reason why I love this album so much and I gave it a 4.5 is because “Kesha” is as real as you can get. She isn’t one of those stars who did it just to move discs off the shelf (cough cough Rihanna!), you get a vibe that she has had a lot of fun with this album. With all respect, I don’t think the album showed off her vocals in a great way” but who cares! Lady Gaga and Rihanna set aside ‘cos a new Bitch is in town! New single… (more…)

Leona Lewis Blames Lady Gaga for her US flop!

Leona_Lewis“In the US, unless you’re Justin Timberlake or Beyoncé, you cannot put out a song and not be in the country when it comes out. Leona was gone for six weeks when ‘Happy’ came out because she was promoting the record in other countries – it wasn’t her fault; she couldn’t be two places in once. I had radio stations telling me that they thought ‘Happy’ was the single biggest ballad they’d come across in ten years, but that if Leona didn’t come over here and promote it, it was going to fall.”

However, the impact of Lady GaGa – who has notched up five US top ten hits in the last 12 months – might have adversely affected the single’s chances.

“On top of that, America’s consumed with Lady GaGa and dance music right now, so it’s not the best time for ballads anyway”, he said. “When everything on the radio is blasting out at 120 bpm, a song like ‘Happy’ almost sounds out-of-place.” says Ryan Tedder.

Note to Leona! Echo was an epic fail! and put my to sleep by about track number three, and the continuous efforts to copy other artist’s promotion photos and shoots (like the one above much like Mariah Carey’s 1st LP) and the Echo cover being a copy of the Kylie style it’s time to wonder where Leona wan’t to be in the music industry!? Either way! I do not see a tour comming…period!

Hope For Haiti Now!

hopeBanner3

With the on going relief efforts in Haiti, Simon Cowell announced that Jon Bon Jovi and Mariah Carey will be added to the ever growing list of singers to go on Cowell’s charity single (REM’s) “Everybody Hurts”. So far other acts to be on the track will be Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, Kyle Manogue, Cheryl Cole, JLS, Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry (other acts will be added later) some romours of Miley Cyrus joining the team.

I’m glad that the UK have finally started to go for this approach to raise money for charity, after the “Hope For Haiti” concert in the states, it wasn’t long before the UK got it’s stars and some of the other platinum ones to get together!  ”It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti…This is something that really matters to us all, and I’m so grateful for the support we are getting” he told us. Also confirmation that the melody will be remastered and (surprise surprise) Mariah will be leading with the main vocals! I hope everyone buys this single as soon as it comes out! And for some odd reason I have a feeling that Rihanna will be added to the list…Great!
